this is a very informative piece about ipf, for all the sufferers and carers out there, and information for the copd patients too/

Thanks amagran - I've just sat and watched it with a cup of coffee. I can see how ipf often gets mistaken for copd as they share such similar symptoms, but perhaps this is one area where we may need to educate our GP's a bit more so that they don't automatically assume copd. I go to a copd support group every Tuesday, so will work on raising the issue there, as well as with my local GP's. In fact I think we might have a study session of all the various lung diseases, the similarities and differences in symptoms etc, what to look out for and so on. I knew very little about IPF prior to Dionnes' 3Peaks fundraiser. It was her blogs about her Dad that raised my awareness of it and got me reading up on it. I may not be able to do a lot, but what I can do, I will. P x

Well done Parvati, it works :-)

A tip for anyone adding YouTube videos, start at http: and include everything before the &, if there is one. Sometimes the stuff after the & is specific to your particular search and could stop the video showing.

Also, don't post a link as the topic of a message. That will not work because the site is set up to set the topic as plain text, otherwise you would never get into the individual blog message, it would just shoot off to the link when you click on it. Instead, add it as a line of the message, the site will then make it a clickable link and show that in blue.

it shows how richard was undiagnosed, his peak flow was always good etc, giving a false front. Thanks for raising it with your group, it certainly needsto be circulated, but then I could be considered bias. xxx
