Good Morning everyone

Autumn is well and truly here now - the leaves are falling and the mornings and evenings are very cold - i could see my breath outside last night when i was calling the cat to come in!

In 2010 and international survey spoke to 900 randomly chosen people across the world to ask about their hygiene levels - apparently Britons came out worst - the link can be found below.

We all know the flu virus and others can last for a long time outside the body, for people vulnerable to flu this can be a very hard time of year. Public transport can be really tricky with people coughing and sneezing and potentially passing the virus on.

Coughing into the crook of your elbow or a tissue then binning it (the tissue not your elbow) may help.

Cheers

Jo

I have read a shocking thread on here where a pharmacist was working with vulnerable patients whilst full of cold germs and still got messages of support for carrying on regardless, beggars belief

I read an article some time ago,(sorry cannot remember where} about fighting infections,My spleen was removed some years ago so I have to be very careful as my immunity is lowered,The article was very much along the lines get your own personal hygiene sorted, not the quick flash under the tap after the toilet but really clean them with soap every time,Apparently closing the lid of the toilet before you flush, can really reduce the amount of germs flying around,

I took this on board and my infection rate have dropped considerably,of course there are lots of other factors but this line of defence is so easy to use.

Excellent advice Timber, especially putting down the seat before flushing, so many pleople have their tooth brush so close to the toilet. Maureen usa
