I have just be put on the transplant list .I believe about 150 op are done in uk each year ,but the best place to answer your questions is NHS web site type in lung transplant ,or british lung web site they will give you all that need x

I am currently on the transplant list and have been for almost 3 months . As smokless said around 150 lung transplants are performed each year. in terms of the chance of being a recipient around 40% of people on the transplant list pass away before getting the operation .

Are you actually on the list or just finding out information? i ask this as when on the list you are given a pack to read through that has lots of information in it and it helped me a lot.

Hey Tony,

How are you hun? Havn't seen you for a while, don't get much time to come on here though. All good here, went out with dad again yesterday to the beach and had a great time. He is deteriorating every day which is so hard to watch, you feel so helpless. He has an appointment soon with a new specialist and I think he wants to discuss a possible transplant. Will see what happens.

Im ok thanks, got a bit of a chest infection at the moment so taking things easy, glad you are enjoying time with your dad and promising news about a new consultant- let me know how he gets on xx

I am deteriorating daily too it takes longer and longer to get started in the mornings which has a knock on effect with later and later bed times but im trying to manage it night by night.

Im so sorry to read you are deteriorating, but good that you are trying to manage it. Thats all you can do isn't it? You got to make things as easy as possible for you if you can and cut as many corners as you can.......dad be living in a round house soon lol!
