Hi everyone went to the theatre today always do the matinee performance do not like the night air. Well it was great but am exhausted now. Just wondered if anybody else has to eat mints all the time when somewhere like this just so you do not cough. I do, no other sweets help only softmints strange that . :)

It was The Alchemist by Ben Jonson It is a 17th century comedy basically about a couple of con men trying to sell people non existing stuff like turning all metal into gold. It plays on peoples greed and is a comical farce. I thought it was excellent. The next one is in October called Sudden Love. I try to go once a month I prefer it to the cinema which I find the air is more dry and too noisy.

the other day on the bus richard was in his wheelchair, and always coughs, and a lady had a pram, the baby kept giving richard his blanket, as we have 9 grandkids we are used to babies, but the looks on the mums face led me to lean over and say quietly, its ok he hasnt anything you can catch, maybe i would be the same. love the theatre, me and a friend used to go every month, now its every few months.

I've seen Jakemans on sale in the £1 shops, 2 bags for a quid. I think it was just the two traditional flavours though

Hi,

I religeously have to take tic tac mints with me everywhere, just to stop my mouth drying up & sounding like Lee Marvin !!!

Water is another must on a long journey.

Take care

Dave

my mum has a major adiction to murray mints, they stop her coughing....we always end up with pockets full but I find that they agravate my cough...water only thing that helps!

Hi Perusal have been thinking of buying the Alchemist book but yes the theatre is great and I need to go to the city at the end of the year as I live in a small seaside town with only one theatre. The mints I take were recommended by Gordon who answered you earlier

"Uncle Joes Mint Balls" cant remember the blog but he was so funny with it but will try Jakemans. Uncle Joes are too expensive but they come in a cheery tin although not cheery enough at the price. Can you tell I am a Scot!

I Know Uncle Joes mint balls we have an old traditional sweet shop in the village and it is all the old sweets cough candy peanut brittle etc it is lovely I like the ponterfract cakes small flat liqourice sweets. No wonder I am overweight. The cough candy is nice on a cold day. I live in a village by the beach but it is near train line and I drive so no problems getting to town or city. I am lucky have lived here 6 years since retirement.
