I posted a while ago about trying to get IV antibiotic's at home.

Well the GP has said today that they will do their best to do this via the district nurses which is all good :)

To go into hospital for up to 2 weeks at a time is really a waste of a bed, unless of course I am really poorly, one in the eye ha ha Val

Hi Val, you seem very good at getting things - IV antibiotics, nebuliser, 6 bottles mobile oxygen. I keep saying I'm going to start asking for things but I lack confidence think I'm going to be turned down. I could do with more than 2 mobile bottles and I want a nebuliser. I have to rely on my husband to take me to the surgery, at the moment he is busy at work. Maybe I'll get something done soon.

OK Val so how come you've got an 02 Nurse at the hospital and I havn't ? I havn't even got a hospital, just my GP and surgery nurse. Maybe it's a county thing - I'm in Shropshire.

I see the consultant at the local hospital she is usually there, she tests for the 02 and increases as needed Val

Ask about a referral to a consultant that's the way to go :)

We are well behind at our local hospital, the consultant was new he said the previous hospital he worked at the district nurses did IV's at home. Not around here I am afaid think I am lucky to get the GP and district nurses to agree this time Val
