Hi Julie,

Yes I have had nystan for oral thrush, and they were brilliant.cleared the infection in no time.

In what way did they make you feel awful after taking them?

Take care.x

Thanks, Fantasy. Felt nauseous and faint .... may have been as this was the 4th antibiotic - 2 for chest infections one after the other lot, then really strong ones for leg wound - even Doc said they make you feel horrible ! so maybe a mix. wil restart if I feel I need to after I finish this antiobiotic.

Hi juliekay is it nystan oral suspension for mouth thrush?

in reply to Gary1969

yes it is. have you tried this ?

Hi Julie - if you need an anti-fungal another time, you could ask your gp for Diflucan. I find it doesn't make me nauseous like Nystan

thanks Fairyfootsteps.... you too then with the nausea ?

eeeugh yes, it's horrid, especially the drops - Diflucan is a tablet and although nausea can be a s/effect for some people, I don't have a problem with it, so might be worth you trying

best of luck!

Am now on day five of using the in oral suspension one (1ml x4 per day) its not quite made me feel nauseous but is sickly tasting and I did feel a bit odd when I started taking it.

However with taking Fluconazole as well my throat is just about back to normal.

Just a little add on Julie - Diflucan and Fluconazole are the same drug - Like fairyfootsteps and woodshaper I prefer them too. Tablet form are systemic - quite useful for us ladeeez!

Thanks everyone,... all so helpful. I will go back to see Doc and ask for Diflucan tabs then. xxx
