Appointments now arrived

I have now had appointments for more tests 2nd C.T scan (a week on Tuesday) L.F.T 2/11/12, and to see Consultant on 15/11/12. Consultant should also have my hospital records from my previous hospital so it looks like I should be able to see whats going on with my emphysema before christmas. I am also waiting to be referred to the Pulmonary Rehab after November

I have been feeling a little worse for wear this summer after a holiday with the grandkids but was not too depressed while in their company for a week. It seems to be creeping back to me I promise I am goning to keep sane for the sake of the family.

My employer has been very good to me when I feel down and allow me to work from home when I need to. It maybe due to my occupation of being Health and Safety officer at an academy.

I feel that I am getting worse in my breathing and do a lot of coughing when I am in bed. I wake up about 3 times a night, every night, I never want to go out in the evenings so spend alot of time sitting in my garden when I can. It does depress me when I think of all the things I used to do before I was diagnosed with Emphysema last year.

Thank you for taking time to read my blog and I will update as and when I need to.

Hopefully everything will all finally come together and you can have the right treatment. In the meantime have you asked your GP to prescribe you something for the cough? I know it is part of the illness but you shouldn't have to put up with it if treatment is available.

Take care x

Hu Diablo it is a long drawnout process, but I hope I will get the right treatment in the end and that it helps to ease the problems. I know it can only get worse but I have packed up smoking a few months ago which is a good thing to do although I still get that little man on my shoulder saying go on have a fag, but i wont give in

No Tanymarie I never give that a thought about asking the doctor if he can give me something for the cough, but I will now. As you say it is part of the illness so I never gave it a thought. Thank you for the advice.

I tried to get an appointment today with my doctor but can't get in till next friday, so I went straight to our local chemist and thats what he told me take linctus that will help you through till your appointment. I'm going to try that so fingers crossed.

Why does it take so long to get an appointment at the doctors these days. Im not running the doctorsd down , but you would of thought that after I told the receptionist whjt my problem was she could have fitted me in before next Friday. Mind you they do do a wonderful job and take some stick from patients, but it really gets to me when you are sitting in the waiting room and you read that in the past month there was 133 patients that never turned up for their appointment. So sad
