How stupid is me Blog.

As many will know I write my own copd blog. And rather than replicate on two blogs what has already been written offer the link so those on other blogs can read. This is part one of a two part blog about my fight with and exacerbation. And stupidity in dealing with it despite a lot of experience with copd. Visit bitz-and-bobz.co.uk/copd/ and don't forget to pop back to read the other part later tomorrow.

Derek thanks for sharing this.

Also its difficult to know sometimes, with high pollen counts, hot days and humidity etc. all can worsen our symptoms but may not necessarily mean a lung infection, even though we know any worsening of our symptoms can indicate an infection. Where we would normally act quickly, sometimes we may just put it down to the weather conditions.

I do hope you will be feeling better soon and still be able to enjoy some fine weather days.

Thanks for sharing this. I too struggle with knowing if I am having an 'off' day or if I am actually coming down with an infection. I regularly put in sputum samples. The last one showed Staph but when I spoke to my GP he asked how I was feeling and I said I was feeling fine so we didn't bother with the antibiotics this time.

Other times I have gone feeling utterly lousy and he says my chest sounds clear (but gives me antibiotics anyway!).

At the moment the lime trees nearby make me struggle, as they did my grandad. SOmetimes country living isn't always great.

Hope you are on the road to recovery Derek. You are not stupid, I think most of us have got it wrong at sometime, but you are right it is so very important to act fast. Thank you for sharing with us.

Best wishes

Jo :-)

I have now written and published the final part of this blog. Part two. I have always enjoyed writing so was pleased to enjoy writing this. A sign I am well on the mend. Please use the same link as above. Many thanks for the comments from you guys. We all make mistakes. But maybe on my part, knowing so much about copd and suffering from very severe copd, I should have known better. A lesson learned the heard way. But I will not ever repeat it. I promise.

so how do you really know it's an infection or if it is a reaction to the weather. ?
