I have to say that since I was put on azithromycin in March my life has changed greatly and for the better. Its made a huge difference. Is it a new thing? The article makes it sound like its some sort of revelation?

think it is that it is being proved from studying people and they are clearly making a statement that it is good both for the COPDer and the Health services as it saves cash .... brilliant. Glad you are feeling the benefit. Julie

I too have been on Azithromycin two days a week as a maintenance antibiotic. It has worked miricles for me as previously I had been in hospital three time with serious flare ups.

I also have been taking azithromycin three days a week for nearly 12 months and it has been fantastic, no serious infections since, although my breathing not too good.

Today I have a silly cough and I hope its just the high pollen, I have been sitting outside a lot this week.

That should read for 16months, I have just checked, doesn't time fly.
