Any body else had problems with disabled access at national trust properties,I most certainly have as an example.
Went to visit the old workhouse at Southwell ,nottinghamshire, web site said disabled drop off point,on arrival at the property no signs for drop off point ,went into the car park ,again no signs for drop off point ,recorded audio info message ,no mention of drop off point ,mobile phone number given for information ,recorded message again no mention of any drop off point.
Not wanting to let down my family I walked the half mile or so to the old workhouse, which on a slight gradient on a very cold day was quite a struggle ,on our arrival I asked the staff how do we access the drop off point, they then explained how to find it ,but agreed it was not signposted in any way.
Not wanting to bore you ,I have had similar in at least one other property, where I had to walk the full length of a huge car park to show my blue badge in order to access the disabled parking very close to the property.
To make matters worse trying to get any response from the National Trust is like getting blood from a stone ,it takes weeks/months to get any reply from an E-mail and then it's the "nothing to do with me " sort "I have passed this on to some one else"sort and then its weeks /months before that person replies, always along a similar vein.
I expected better from the national trust, anyone else had similar issues.
