Back from having my blood gases and walk test done, outcome is to increase the oxygen to 3L from 2L when sitting and sleeping, to increase from 2L to 6L ambulatory/walking about. (Was having real trouble just getting from room to room) Hope this helps and I can get back to work soon, also tried saline through the nebuliser was ok with this so will try it for 2 weeks to see if it also helps my breathing!

Still waiting of a test to see if I can use a conserver BOC and the nurse organising this hopefully it will be soon as using 6L of liquid 02 won't last long! Val

I hope this increase works for you Val, lets hope that you are able to use the conserver. I found saline nebs really helped me.

Best wishes

Jo :-)

Hello Val, I'm on 3 LPM and often wonder if the oxygen should be increased when walking, exercising etc. hopefully you'll be able to use a conserver, I can go 8 hours on 3 lpm with a conserver so a real benefit.

My sats went down to 79 walking in the hospital today, 6L went to 90 just goes to show you. Have you done the walk test libby? It's all well and good doing blood gases but it's a different matter when your moving about, will see when they organise the conserver test hope I can use one Val x

Hope it works for you valm . How long is it lasting at 6L now you have changed ?

Thanks stitch hopefully back to work soon will give it a couple of weeks see how I go pleased things are getting sorted. x

Hi Val, glad to hear that you are getting things sorted out at last. Doesn't it make a difference when we can use the level of 02 that we need! All we need now is for some genius to invent a good lightweight portable for us that can do high flow 02 and last a reasonable amount of time. You wouldn't think it too much to ask would you, considering we can put men on the moon! Hope you are feeling stronger by the day now Val, best wishes, P :)
