Anyone taking this? Just been prescribed by respiratory consultant? He said a lot of people take them from 15 years old! As an older lady on other meds was a bit concerned having read the leaflet! Thanks

Hi, I thought that montezuma was a brand of chocolate, I shall have to look it up. You don't mean Montelukast do you?

Thanks for the heads up about montezuma chocolate. I hadn't heard of it before, and they've got a sale on of Christmas stock at the moment. Shall definitely be ordering some :)

🤣🤣 I've been taking, with no side effects for probably 8 years. I feel safe because its prescribed a lot for asthmatic children. & its only 10mgs plus I asked the gp if it was a safe drug when first prescribed - and I'm a sensitive soul 😉 (You can edit your post by clicking on the 'More V' underneath it which then offers you 'edit or delete'......you can lock your post whilst editing if you wish). Good luck with the montelukast Caznear68

Maybe you were craving some montezuma choc, it IS yummy! I was on montelukast for about 10yrs & found it very helpful for asthma, until eventually my allergies got so bad it stopped working. Some people say it gives them vivid dreams (I don’t mean nightmares) but it never affected me.

Hi, I'm not on montelukast but I doubt that the consultant would have prescribed it if he didn't think it would be of benefit. That said, a consultant once changed my inhaler and within a week my breathing was much worse and I spoke to my GP and went back to using the previous inhaler so if you find any problem with your new medication do let your doctor know. You could also speak to your pharmacist to check it's ok with your other medication to be sure. Hope all will be well.

Hi caznear68,I am on montelukast 10mg and its helpful to me for the last 8yrs to keep airways open during the night no side effects here but if I miss a dose or take it later I am aware of a tightness in my breathing.

I've been taking Montelukast for years with no ill effects. The only thing I would say is that I agree about the vivid dreams so I now take it in the morning which is fine by my Consultant and that has solved the dreams problem. No side affects at all. Keep safe and well.

Caz, Hope you got your questions answered and doing well. I have Afib but not bad yet. Now for you chocolate lovers, I suggest Choco Perfection sweetened with chicory, no sugar and made in Belgium. There's so little difference between this chocolate and regular chocolate, some but not a lot. Recommend bars with almonds while sipping some red wine. Works for me to reset my sweet tooth and calm my addiction to chocolate. Best to y'all.
