Nasal Congestion at Night Time - Breathe Right Nasal Strips

Good morning everyone, I suffer badly at night with nasal congestion which keeps me up most of the night.

After recently seeing my ENT Specialist at Hospital he advised I try "Sterimar spray", which I take throughout the day and I find this very helpful.

He also suggested I try "Breathe Right Nasal Strips".

Has anyone one else on here tried the Nasal Strips and If so did they help your congestion?

Kind regards as always

Joseph x

I have tried nasal strips and for me they were a waste of time. But we are all different and without trying them you won’t know if they help. You have nothing to loose by trying them!

Worth a try if the ENT specialist suggested them and probably won't do any harm even if they don't help

I have been using them for 6 months and find them excellent, I’m able to breathe through my nose which stops the chest rattle when breathing through my mouth. I find the best are breathe right original as they stick really well. I suffer from bronchiaectacis and and permanent sinusitis.

Thanks from a fellow bronchiectasis sufferer. I use a nose spray from Poundland but I know I shouldn't be using it every night 🤦🏻‍♀️

Try a salt pipe. It works for me. I've used one for15 years +

Hi Joseph, I have used the breathe right strips not so much for congestion but because my severe emphysema means I can only breathe in for a second or two. One of my nostrils is always blocked and by using a strip it opens it up and I can breathe a lot easier.

I use Sleepeze strips as they are cheaper (I get them through Amazon) and they do help me. They open up my nasal passages enough for me to breath properly. They are also a bit softer than 'Breathe Right Strips'. I've had nasal problems for years & I also use a saline rinse - there are various things to try - eg try googling 'netti pots' and and there's also a company called 'NeilMed' which does a bottle which is what I use. If you do end up with a DIY solution remember to use sterilised/boiled water and do clean the kit.

Sorry Joseph, my memory gets worse as I get older! - I completely forgot to mention that I'm on a daily steroid nasal spray called Avamys which I get on prescription.
