Lung Volume Reduction Surgery

Hello Friends. I have read a number of posts about VRS and almost all have said it has improved their life considerably. I am recently retired and have tried to improve my general health and breathing through diet , excercise , and following my treatment regimen. I don't seem to be getting any better and everything is a struggle.

Please could I ask what the eligibility criteria is for VRS? I think I would like to ask my GP about this but don't really know if I am suitable for this treatment.

I am very happy for those who have had VRS successfully. Love to hear how your life has improved. Thank you :)

Hello JJI can’t help with your query but welcome to this forum. There are many who will be able to offer you their experience of LVR surgery.

All the best

Welcome to the forum, have a look at this link,it's a bit long winded but will give you a rough idea as to the criteria required for selection for any of the various methods used for LVRS.In reality only your consultant, through his knowledge of your condition can advise as to if you will be a suitable candidaengland.nhs.uk/wp-content/u...

My pleasure JJ,please let us know how you get on because if you are eligible for oe of the procedures there are folk on here including myself who have had either the full LVRS procedure or the endobronchial valves inserted so we will be able to guide you through both the processes and the post surgery recovery so you have found the ideal place for your needs.Enjoy the rest of your weekend too.

🙃😼
