Goodness, what a busy Sunday, but I guess that’s probably your routine every day. Since I had to stop working all my days are pretty much the same for me. Washing and ironing today. The only thing that makes Sunday is that we usually have a roast - chicken today. Make sure you find time for yourself today.

in reply to helenlw7

Well obviously your right today is no different from any other day 😊 can't even say Sunday dinner is any different from any other day each day seems to blur into the new sometimes I have to look at my phone to see what day it is πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ well most of my jobs I've flown through because I'm trying to have time to sit and think about something personal . Today is the first day in five years where it actually feels like something completely different . And I want to spend time enjoying the feeling .

I hope you get time to think. I spent 30+ years as a teacher, ruled by bells and coffee breaks until my health worsened in 2015. Since lockdown every day has become the same. Enjoy your day.

I'm in a serious amount of pain today I have days like this but today is different I'm totally ignoring the pain and thinking of something special .

I hope the pain doesn’t become too unbearable so you have time to think your special thoughts.

in reply to helenlw7

I'm used to it but it's funny what you get used to πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I agree, it’s funny how your body gets used to pain. I have rheumatoid arthritis, amongst other things, and was diagnosed in 2004. The pain that goes with the disease, and I’ve been on aggressive meds since then but the pain is always there, which drs find hard to believe!

in reply to helenlw7

I have one rule regarding pain I treat it like mind over matter I don't mind so it doesn't matter.

That sounds like a very good rule to me!

in reply to helenlw7

Well it works for me, why let pain rule your life why let it spoil a beautiful day or a feeling you have never experienced before pain is less important.well to me I can't and won't speak for others we each deal with things in our own way 🀣

Glad that you are having a better day regardless of the pain and difficult circumstances you are in.It's gone quiet on the news re the fires in your neck of the woods.

Is the situation any better air quality wise?

in reply to ninelives

Yes because the fires that are still being put out are right inland the air quality as improved so much and yes you still get the odd wiff of smoke but not too noticeable

Oh my goodness Dave, I am worn out just reading about all you are doing. Hope you were able to do most of it in the cool of the morning. Pop some pain control meds and take it slow rest of the day.

Don't forget to take good care of you.

That’s appalling really! How do they get your information? It would frighten me to death getting calls from funeral directors. It freaked me out enough to be called by surgery and asked to make an appointment but wouldn’t say why. I turned up a couple of weeks later so obviously whatever they wanted to see me about wasn’t urgent. I was shocked to be seen by a new Youngish Dr who casually pushed himself back from his desk with his foot then put his hands behind his head and casually said to me. β€œ You are at the end of your life. There is nothing more we can do for you. It would be sensible to sign this DNR etc etc etc” I was stunned. I couldn’t believe he had wasted my day by calling me into the surgery for that. I told him absolutely no way was I going to sign a DNR and that he might die long before me. Etc. He was annoyed and very persistent but I was NOT signing it bed blocking or not!!! It made it worse to me as I have never been in hospital for my severe COPD. I was in for 4 days a few years ago with a HA and that’s all. I deal with things myself normally. I’m not at the surgery much at all.

in reply to Gladwyn

These funeral planners start by sending emails I had one and reported it as spam so didn't get them then out the blue I get a call from same company . They get their information from somewhere I may be terminal but hell I don't want some snot nosed person reminding me well don't think I'll get any more calls just annoyed the hell out of me
