Looks like you are going to get a star filled sky again. Heavy rain here today and, after a brief spell of sun at tea time, the clouds are gathering again.

in reply to CDPO16

Oh dear not good then , yes must admit I love the night just to look at the stars and every now and then we see the iss space station which is fascinating

Actually good. The gardens really needed the rain.

in reply to CDPO16

We usually get our rain in end of October beginning of November but no guarantees this year the way things are going hardly had a winter last year , we have had two or three small fires on the mountains and a few earthquakes but fairly small 4.2s nothing to worry about .

CDPO16 in reply to

I hope that the fires stay well away from you. It was on our news last night about the fires near Athens. Extremes of weather around the globe with many people being injured or loosing their lives sadly.

in reply to CDPO16

We have fire's most years usually from stupidity and rule breaking as there's a strict no fire rule here for garden rubbish , but some start because of broken glass . More risky with the earthquakes , we get them from all angles were on three fault lines πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ just saw a shooting star and made my wish first one I've seen since last year .

Aww! I hope it comes true. We had an earthquake here about three years ago. I particularly remember it as I had some flowers beside me that were quivering. I thought it was odd but didn’t know until later that it was an earthquake. We’ve had a few fires round here lately. Probably started by troublesome kids. I just hope they get them. It’s usually a barn but the last one a couple of days ago it was a field set alight. There’s too many at the moment to be a coincidence.

OK I admit bit of jealousy here looking at the mountain view and stars. The times you get glimpse of space station is wicked!

in reply to Maggie_Mae

I always look forward to night time just for the stars 😘

It would probably do my bones good to be in the sun. We’ve not had a very good summer this year. We had a cold start, then it got too hot and now it’s turned again and we’ve had torrential rain and winds. It’s cliudy and very still at the moment but later on it’s going to get very windy again. I don’t know which is worst. Too hot or too wet and windy. We can’t win at the moment. I have heard that August is supposed to be better.

Fingers crossed.

in reply to Mavary

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you πŸ˜‰ 🀞 from February it's been hot here and only got hotter and August is our hottest month and looking to be a record for heat πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅

I’ve had to put a cardi on tonight as it’s quite chilly here. I’m just hoping it gets a bit warmer. We’ve got wind and rain tonight. We had our hot spell now it’s chilly. From about 32 degrees to 15 degrees. That’s a big drop. 32 in England is unbearable.

in reply to Mavary

🐱🐱 it's around 30 / 35 at night here and like I said high fourties during the day and round the other side of the island lindos falaraki it's usually ten degrees hotter because it's a basin , I'm sat outside in just my shorts 🀣🀣 it would have been lovely to share all this with someone but like I said who wants to be with someone whose got the life expectancy of a may fly ,πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯ been going over what I was told today a lot of it is a tough pill to swallow but when you have no choice just move on , can't complete anything on my bucket list πŸ˜‚ just glad I've kept my humour I guess it's keeping me going. There's good people around who don't deserve to go through the stuff we are going through and I'm angry but guess it's normal . Anyway less doom and gloom the sky is clear and full of stars each one beautiful the moon's at the back of the house so out of view but I'm listening to the damn chika bugs chirping driving me crazy it's like being in the Amazon πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ wrap up warm and cozy . I'll send you some sunshine over tomorrow morning πŸ‘πŸ‘

Aww! Yes please. I was told to sit in the sun because of the vit D. Mine is low despite being on the calcium tablets.i never have been a sun worshiper. When I was younger it used to give me migraines. Since then I’ve never really sat in the sun.i like it when it’s between 22 and 24 degrees. When it was 32 degrees it was unbearable hear. I think its because of the humidity. I went to Grand Canaria with my Son his Wife and Children. We had 32 degrees over there and I could actually walk about in that heat because it was a dry heat. It’s like I said though. None of us know how long we’ve got. I found out from my last discharge sheet from hospital that I have interstitial lungs and a nodule in my left lung. I haven’t been told anything. I rang the BLF today and ask the nurses advice. She said I ought to speak to my Dr and get an appointment with my Consultant to explain things.

in reply to Mavary

Yes make sure you do exactly that πŸ‘ sat here with my mask on with my machine chugging away quite happily having my Meds . I'll go back outside till my Meds have settled then I'll go bed not as I lay down I haven't done that since June 2017 ,πŸ˜‚ I stretch out with my back up the wall obviously I have a pillow πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I'll listen to enigma for a couple of hours and see if I drop off if not back outside ,. Please make sure you call your doctor tomorrow or no sunshine ok

in reply to Mavary

It's the same here as grand Canaries dry heat all good , Def plenty of vitamin d for you πŸ‘β€οΈ

We’ve got rain again tonight. It’s been windy all day. I do envy you your weather. It’s probably nice to sit in the shade of a tree.

in reply to Mavary

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ well I thought it was snowing here for past couple of days , but it was ash from Turkey that was burning.

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

Goodness! We are going to get cold and maybe snow here not too long ahead.

in reply to Mavary

I would love to sit under a.tree but it would probably be no room for me with all the cats hiding under it . I feel sorry for any furry creature when it is hot at least we can take our clothes off they can't take their fur off 🀣🀣🀣

Aww! It wouldn’t be any good me living there. I would be looking after all of them. I love animals.

in reply to Mavary

I love animals in total I'm feeding about seven cats and nine kittens and I have four tubs of water with ice in them scattered around the outside πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

That’s how I would be too.

in reply to Mavary

The place may have lots of cats but every year I've been here I've tried to get as many cats neutered on our street as possible , PETA come out once a year to do it free of charge

in reply to Mavary

Now you have morning and evening 😘

This is the start of a beautiful evening .
Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

We’ve actually got a bit of sun this evening. After all the cloud and rain we’ve had. I think the forecast for August is better. I hope it’s a bit cooler for you today.

in reply to Mavary

It was hotter but yet again we're getting extra heat because of the fires in Turkey the ash cloud isn't doing my breathing any favours either but I m still outside under the stars πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

They’re saying it’s going to get even hotter over there. So you take care.

in reply to Mavary

Well today was 46degrees according to the weather man but the external thermometer outside the pharmacy said 49 in the shade πŸ˜‚ keeping well hydrated , breathing is a bit of a problem because of the air quality bad at moment lots of ash in the air . Still looking at the stars . πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Take care and keep safe πŸ‘πŸ˜·

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

I didn’t like to tell you but they are saying 50 degrees in Turkey and Greece. It’s hot air coming up from Africa. At least you are doing the right thing and are staying well hydrated. You take care and look after yourself. Let’s hope this heat will be short lived.

in reply to Mavary

I guess we will have this through August and September and then start to cool down the heat isn't too much of a problem during the day just makes it uncomfortable at night , I've just had a cool shower and sat outside yet again πŸ˜‚ something I couldn't do in the UK sit outside in my boxer's I would have been taken away , I'm not on the front now I've moved round the side of the house on the large yard there's a breeze here and out of sight 😜 🀣🀣

You are very calm about earthquakes , only small 4.2. ! We had a much smaller one here and there was a meeting of geologists in Liverpool Uni at the same time it happened. They were over the moon ! Is it just a shake or do you get damage .? I went to Nisyrios, next island along the fault from you and walked down into the volcano crater along with all the other tourists. I wouldn't do that now that I know a bit more about it. Told not to wear rubber shoes or they would melt . They had a party trick --- cook an egg on the surface to show how hot it is .

in reply to Jaybird19

A 4.2 is a wobble we had a 7.2 that did damage it caused one wall in the paniari church to come away . It was strong enough to make my bed go in circles like a scene from the exorcist πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£
