Yes, unfortunately a very wet morning here in Bournemouth! I live not far away! I hope you had a good time despite the weather! It’s quite a good aquarium…although also a bit on the pricey side. Enjoy your time! Dee 😊

Why do you ask? I am a brummie but we tend to move away like many others. I think Spacecat and I have lived in same places but at different times in our lives.

Just interested in where people in the live in the country. Being a driver it brings back memories of delivering in different areas

Bingo88 profile image
Bingo88 in reply to CaptainPugwash

Yes it's an expensive part of Birmingham as well as Sutton Coldfield CaptainPugwash. Used to deliver to Studley down your way and Redditch . Hope you're day is going well. Brian

Hi , born in mansfield spent most of my life in Leicestershire and now in Rhodes Greece so big contrast 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Bingo88 profile image
Bingo88 in reply to

Good morning Davey1963. Yes used to deliver around Mansfield Woodhouse and Leicestershire into Peterborough and all around that area. Never been to Rhodes. But have a friend who used to live there. Hope you're as well as possible and enjoy your day. Brian

in reply to Bingo88

At the moment it's extremely hot more than usual the past couple of years but don't miss English weather yet 🤣🤣 have a good day Brian

Bingo88 profile image
Bingo88 in reply to

You too Davey1963. I always loved mainland Spain on the Costa Blanca and it's very warm there at the moment too. But sadly a mixture of brexit and also my retirement age moving to 66 has now stopped my plans to retire to there. Take care

in reply to Bingo88

Must admit Brexit as screwed alot of things up , we have an English shop here on the island lots of English food that you obviously miss and now can't get anything because of Brexit

I just saw this -what an amazing place to live. Like the Durrells in My family and other animals ( although that may have been Corfu). Will you stay there forever and what’s the medical treatment like?Sorry to jump into your post Bingo - Londoner here.

Bingo88 profile image
Bingo88 in reply to Hellodolly

No problem at all

in reply to Hellodolly

Well I originally came to pay my respects to my mother who had passed away due to cancer my parents retired here , my now ex wife who was committing adultery used my visit to leave me stranded here so I couldn't contest the divorce . So I was left her with only enough meds for my visit and even got my ESA stopped so now being stage four I've been advised not to fly because I have blackouts caused by low.oxygen levels in my blood . Doctors are brilliant but no health service so limited help and no support for people with my condition . but weather is always good good food and people are extremely helpful. Property is cheap to rent aswell 🤣🤣🤣

Bingo88 profile image
Bingo88 in reply to

I hope you keep as well as possible and are managing financially as well take care

Hellodolly profile image
Hellodolly in reply to

Wow - I’m sorry you got stranded. I suppose if you need to come back to the UK it will need to be ferry and overland by bus. Is there anything we can do for you?

in reply to Hellodolly

For me to get back I would have to get a ferry from Rhodes to mainland which unfortunately the islands are locked down ferry wise then drive through Europe and redstar from France so expensive and a long time traveling 😂😂😂 nice thought though , downside is English weather not good for me my lungs have adapted to hot dry heat 😂👍 plus extremely worried about this variant in UK it's an obvious worry for people in our situation health wise

ninelives profile image
ninelives in reply to

So so sorry to hear that.I do hope that if you want to come back once things are clearer you are able to do so.

Thinking of you ,stay well.

in reply to ninelives

The pulmonologist said stage four is end stage and for someone who as never smoked could be two to three years life expectancy but as an ex smoker my expectancy is drastically reduced . Think I'll be joining my mother in all honesty , sad but a fact I've faced up to I'm not letting it beat me and will fight to the end . All caused by a ex wife who caused all of this just to be with another guy who she's no longer with 😂😂

Hellodolly profile image
Hellodolly in reply to

Well I’m glad you are benefitting from the hot dry weather. It has been pouring down a lot in the UK lately and that can play havoc with the lungs. If you are happy enough there and can get by, then it makes sense to stay. Best of luck with everything.

in reply to Hellodolly

Cheers and keep safe in these uneasy times

Saddened to hear this.No one knows how long we each have -thankfully the bone lesion I have is stable at present.

There are days when one can not see past the physical and mental pain we are in-and I do have empathy as survived a horrific childhood.

It's Blaise to say take each day as it comes.

I look for joy in the little things ,a sunrise ,beautiful flowers ,lung buddy photos posted on this site.

Thinking of you and sending virtual support.

in reply to ninelives

For this I thank you , the Greeks around me are trying to be supportive as possible but it's not easy for them to understand the complexity of my health condition as it's something not seen on a small island . And explaining is always a problem with the language barrier , my pulmonologist is a rock she's given me her home and personal phone number incase of any emergency , I have to visit her every month now for regular spirometry readings and she's always tweeking my Meds to try and help plus I'm set up with oxygen bottles one for home and one in a rucksack to take out with me . I'm grateful every day I wake up and see the sun and I'm not going without a fight that's for sure , 👍👍👍

Bingo88 profile image
Bingo88 in reply to

Just try and keep positive and keep proving the so called experts wrong. No body knows how long we have. It depends when our fight runs out

in reply to Bingo88

My attitude exactly people in lab coats are still only people and their proved wrong so many times . It's all down to the inderviduals inner strength and determination . Thanks for the support and encouragement and I hope to still be on here talking with people.👍👍🤞 Keep safe 😷

Bingo88 in reply to Purpled

Good morning Purpled. It's certainly changed a lot over the years. I am coming 66 soon and can vaguely remember the outdoor market being where the civic centre is now and the retail market was behind on the college site. Let's hope our new manager does as well as Nuno. Used to live in Penn Fields for my school life. Then moved to Fallings Park. Then moved to Wednesfield with my parents. Where they both lived out there lives. And I have been in Staffordshire for 23 years now. Hope you're day goes well. Brian

Purpled profile image
Purpled in reply to Bingo88

Thankyou Brian hope your day is a good one too, yes I know all those areas and the hospital I use is New Cross in Wednesfield which is a massive place now. Yer, Nuno is such a sad loss for Wolves, Bring is a stick of rock xx

I'm from the Midlands, the clouds are a bit ominus here , but still quite warm. I was born up north but been in central England since I was a year old. I live in the city of culture (Coventry) now but lived in many areas round about when younger and went to school in Nuneaton. Sadly I am one of those who need help now , its very hard to maintain independence with long term illness, but I guess we all adjust. Enjoy your day everyone

Hi, I spent my first 18 years in Bilston. Hardly recognisable these days , the Black C ountry way has taken the heart out of the area.

Moved south to train as an SRN. ,then upto South Lincolnshire.

Been here more years than I care to admit.

Tarrar a bit ...

Jo. ...☺️

Bingo88 profile image
Bingo88 in reply to Buzzytruk

Hello Buzzytruk. Yes its all changed around Bilston now. And sadly the good old outside market is going the same way as a lot of the others. Used to deliver around Peterborough. Kings Lynn. And Norwich. Sometimes went up the A15 from Peterborough to Boston. At least you have plenty of farms and flat land over Lincolnshire. Pity you don't have more dual carriageways. Hope you're keeping as well as possible. Brian

Buzzytruk profile image
Buzzytruk

Yes thanks ,hope you are too.

I remember the old outside market ,folk travelled from far and wide to go there .

Last time I was there ,the 'new ' outside part was almost empty. Traders there were saying it was because of very high stall rents ...

Still have friends in the area ,. but it's easier to have visitors than drive over there ......😉

We used to live about five miles out of Boston.......never again.....!!!

Jim had a wholesale only plant nursery . Now living further south in a cottage next to a river ......(No fear of flooding .) It's lovely.

The only fault is the wind ....it whistles across the flat lands.

Jo. ☺️
