A Couple of Breaks Away. Bournemouth and Torquay from Wednesday

Hello Everyone I decided to take my almost 1 year old car on a bit of a trip to get used to it. After having a minor sensor problem on the 1st day. The car was a lovely drive down to Bournemouth. Pity the weather wasn't better. But the weather will be a lot better in Torquay on Wednesday until i come home on Sunday. Hope you all had a decent weekend and keeping as well as possible. The hill out of town here is too much for me. But I managed to do it after stopping 3 times after getting out of puff. Just thought I would show my developing technical skills and post a picture too. Brian

Was at both last year and also like Eastbourne. Was there a month ago and it's all on the flat there as well which helps. Brian

I like eastbourne as well and Brighton!

Hello Yes have been to Brighton and probably haven't spent enough time there really but do love Eastbourne. Take care and hope you're keeping stable and well. Brian

Yes I do thanks. I am ok on the flat and also going up to the 1st floor in the hotel . But gradual climbs just knock the puff out of me. So I just take a breather. Brian

LOL same old same 😁😊 I would be the same. No ground room available to swap to? Enjoy your stay.

Me too but it takes 20min to get back to my normal,! As I live in 3 storey house I get plenty of practice. Got a parking fine first time out when had to go to bank and didnt realise the time necessary to get back to car park at top of hill. It is not a hill by some standards but you don't realise until you have problems. Each time you stop you can do less next time.

Yes I think its like all types of exercise once you haven't done it for a while. You do notice the difference next time

I am feeling good. The Relvar Elipta that I have been taking for 3 weeks now has helped with my morning cough a lot. And I shall be giving the Respiratory nurse a reminder in the morning that she wanted to see me in a few weeks to see how i was doing with it. And the blood test for Allergies and Asthma came back clear which is good

Going to be a bit too warm for my liking Brian but glad you are doing well and able to get away. Many years since I was in Torquay and not been to Bournemouth since I was a child but can still remember it.

Bingo88 in reply to CDPO16

Yes I can understand that love i struggle sometimes because we have a conservatory but it gets the sun and it's too warm. I am very positive mainly and just keep going like my father. I do like Eastbourne because it's all flat and it makes it easier. I do puff a little bit on the flat but can keep walking and enjoying life. I Hope you can get a break soon. Because I think it makes you feel better to have a change of scenery. Hope you have a good day. Brian

I am doing okay thank you Brian. I go for my first Covid vaccination today. Fingers crossed 🤞.

Hope everything goes well Cas. Usually you just have a sore arm for a couple of days. A few people have not felt well after the vaccine. But it's a very low percentage. Take care and let us know how you are please xx

There's a gala bingo hall in Torquay Bingo, in the middle of the town. I live in Torbay so if you wanted to meet up that would be great. x

That's a lovely suggestion. But I don't usually play bingo to be honest. Am in Torquay Wednesday until Sunday morning we go home. Brian

I am off on IOW ferry this morning, and cannot wait, I had my first meal out last night and it was well orchestrated and enjoyable, the freedom is exhilarating, walked along the marina in the sun yesterday in Lymington where I am staying, then leg gave way and had to catch a bus back, all new experiences after almost 2 years inside, enjoy your hols, i will wave across the water!

Lovely . did that a few years ago and coming back on ferry into Lymington through all the moored boats brought back memories of when i was much younger many years ago we bought a brand new sailing boat from makers in Newport and had to fetch it home on the trailer. All very exciting. Have a lovely time there.

How lovely, my partner was part of the Natwest sailing team and years ago took me to the club they used in East Cowes. The crossing was lovely today, and i am safely esconced in my room in a hotel, looking out to the sea, my friend is taking care of, my tomatoes!

Thanks ninelives. I do realise how fortunate I am. And would love to find people who i can help to at least have a day out and have a laugh and a nice meal and not have to worry about cooking and washing up. I do always think there's someone worse off than me. Take care. Always here if I can help in anyway. Was a driver for 30 plus years. Have wheels will travel is my moto. It keeps me going. Brian

Enjoy your holiday Brian, the weather is about to turn as sunshine forecast. I haven't been to those parts for a long time. My mum loved Crantock in Newquay and we spent alot of summer holidays in a caravan park there. Its a lovely part of the world x

Bingo88 profile image
Bingo88 in reply to Izb1

Hello lzb1. Yes Newquay is very nice. But like a lot of places the town centres are getting dilapidated. Sadly a lot of us need to learn to just relax on holiday and sunbath. But it's not the way we keep going. Take care and hope you're day goes well. Brian

Lovely pic ! Would love to see the sea , but not possible now as on oxygen 24-7 and ambulatory Oxygen lasts up to 4 hours , which is not enough time , even with two of them as it evaporates . Enjoy your holiday!!

Good morning Beachballs. I am so sorry to hear that. It must be so Restricting for you. I just wish I could help you. Please take care. If I can cheer you up in any way. Just ask. My comfort is my music and memories i call it. Years of driving and only having music for company. Brian

Beachballs profile image
Beachballs in reply to Bingo88

Ahhh! So kind ! I am fine . Just seize the moment, life can change in days , like mine did , no warning! At the start of the week just needed oxygen for stairs and ‘ the half hour walk’ , by the Saturday, I was on it 24-7 , so quick and now can’t get off it . Just enjoy your holiday, and do things while you can. 🌸

Yes I had the same shock. Was keeping an eye on my B.P. because of Chronic Kidney disease. All was ok until I had a cough and sore throat and after getting breathless found within a week I needed a pacemaker for a low heart beat and also had copd. So was a big shock to me

ninelives profile image
ninelives in reply to Beachballs

Can empathize with that.I feel very lucky when fellow lung buddies post pictures of their holidays ,gardens ,and pets -really lifts the day.

Stay safe and well.
