Just been given my new inhaler it's called fostair any one else on this one as always nervous of new things I have to take.

Hi Pokerman - firstly it was so good to hear that you enjoyed your birthday! I have had Fostair for years now and it suits me very well. As you have probably gathered from comments on this forum, everyone is different and so some get on with Fostair very well but others do not. Hope it works well for you. Best wishes.

I have had fostair for years too. Mine is for bronchiectasis and has been fine. I hope that it works for you.

It's rather best thing since sliced bread as far as I'm concerned Ms Pokermon. I've been on it for 3+ years, had far fewer lung infections, rarely need Ventolin as it works so well and is also a MART inhaler which really suits me. Only way is to give it a few weeks to see as its summertime the best time to make changes - unless you're badly effected by the heat/summer allergies. Doesn't suit everyone though. Good luck. P xxx

Hi Pokermon, I was prescribed Fostair (for Asthma symptoms) - like you, I was very apprehensive about starting it, but decided to give it a go. Personally for me, it doesn't seem to be helping much, but as far as side effects are concerned, I don't think I have experienced any. I'd say give it a try, keep a record of symptoms and if needed, speak to your GP or consultant. Hope all goes well

Hi I've been on Fostair for years now and I think it's the best thing ever for my asthma. Also far less chest infections in fact I haven't had any in last 4 years. But remember like most inhalers it takes about 8 weeks to kick in properly. Hopefully it works really well for you.

May I ask what strength they given you?

I’m on fostairnexthaler 100/6 Has improved my health regarding lungs enormously. Give it a go It has smaller particles so goes deeper into the lungs x

I was on Fostair for about a year then I was put on Trimbow instead though no idea why as I was happy on Fostair. 😀

Unfortunately Fostair didnt agree with me. My breathing was worse causing terrible panic attacks. Once put back on my old inhaler problem solved. We are all different and I'm sure there are many here that it does agree with. Good luck xxSheila 👍🙌💕

Hi, I used to be on saratide for years, then my bronceactsis consultant changed me to fostair, it took me a few weeks to get used to it first I had a lot of symptoms on the list, but I persevered and its great now. Don't cough so much, feel a lot better, breathing much better. Give it a go hope it make you better too.

I have been using Fostair coming up for 6 years, I don't know what I would be like without it. Even able to work full time with a FEV1 of 28%, until Covid forced retirement onto me. I hope that it is just as effective for you and changes your life for the better.

Hi,Pokermon,

I found the morning dose good, but useless at night. It did make me very nervous and created a numbness on one side of my face, after about a month of using it. I came of it and returned to Spiolta. However, the odd dose of it is good, but I'm sure I shouldn't be doing that!

Hi Anng I have been in Fostair 100/6 for a few months now take morning and evening and more doses during the day if required for asthma and copd. Definitely works for me but as people on here have mentioned every one is different so any issues see your GP good luck

Hi l have been on fostair for years had no problem remember to shake the spray before use and drink water after using, it should stop you getting a coating on tongue . l have now just been put on Trimbow inhaler giving it a trial but l am finding l need to gargle after using spray and then drink water because it leaves a white coating on my tongue. I'm sure you will be okay on Fostair good luck

Hi i am on Fostair 200. It works for me i am asthmatic with Allergies. Only thing i would say make sure you rinse after use as can cause oral thrush, also i use a large spacer with mine for that very reason. Hope you get on well with it. Karen xxx

I’m on Fostair 200 2 puffs twice a day. Can you get a large spacer from your asthma nurse. I’ve been having problems with a sore tongue and the chemist wondered if it could be thrush.

Yes I'm on the same dose as yourself. I got mine from asthma nurse or the gp. When i have oral thrush it feels like your mouth feels furry plus white spots on your tonsils i take Nystan liquid from my GP its an antibiotic you leave in your mouth for few minutes. Dont eat or drink after for a while. They also do a gel but i find the liquid better. Hope this helps and good luck. Karen xxxxx

I’ve been taking fostair for two years, previously I was taking symbicort, I have found fostair so much better for me, no problem

Hi Pokermon. I have used fostair for years. I find it really helps as a preventer. I am able to judge this as when I haven't taken it I'm morning, if forgotten or run out I do notice I'm more wheezy. As said not everything suits everyone, so good luck and hope it helps

Fostair suits me fine. But the surgery has just changed my presc. to a different one saying that it is due to save the planet because it has a certain gas propellant in it. I asked the chemist and they looked bewildered. I'm being told a load of rubbish and have an appt with surgery this week.
