I did not hear a thing. I have lost the hearing in my left ear and usually sleep on my right side, hence I do not hear that much nowadays.

Takes me back, for a chunk of my childhood my father worked as an engineer in Nigeria. We used to have "leave" in the UK on a regular basis, usually came to the UK by sea not air. It was the old Elder Dempster Line, round the African bulge and then a stop at Las Palmas. Very choppy some times especially coming through the Bay of Biscay. One trip my mother decided to make me look more presentable for the grandparents, so decided to cut my hair. The ship lurched, just as she was cutting round my ear, scissors cut into earlobe, blood everywhere, (somehow it was my fault) ship's doctor eventually stopped the bleeding, and reminded my mother, that although I was a girl, could have gone to the barbers, safer that way. I did get to meet Neptune a few time when crossing the equator.

What a story! I've been across the bay of Biscay 4 times now and it was always flat as a millpond. Slightly disappointing.

Judging by my memories of being sea sick ( Atlantic never Pacific, lives up to its name) do not be disappointed, just thankful. Days of eating nothing but Jacobs Cream Crackers.

We were docked next to one in 2019 it was great listening to disney songs and a film on an outside deck for a few hours.felt like a kid again lol
