O2 therapy

Hi has anyone tried oxygen therapy ie the oxygen tanks/ chambers as used by MS sufferers?

Hello tawny10,I too have HP but you do not indicate how bad your symptoms are.Are you indicating that you just take Fostair 100 once a day? Are you needing oxygen? As for me,I get severe pain in the upper chest area which has recently become a deep aching pain further down in the lungs.I currently take Fostair at 600 and use paracetamol and sometimes Cocodamol 8.I have had pain in the upper areas for 5 years since breathing dust in a chicken shed,just once. Please let me know how your symptoms are.I hope you are under a specialist for this illness.It is clear to me that GPs know little about it.I was "treated" for 3 years with just paracetamol and was seen by four GPs!!! Thanks for your reply. I now take Fostair 200 twice daily plus Carbocystine. Not on oxygen yet but now breathless on level ground as well as hills. Not sure what caused my disease but could be keeping chickens/horses/ mouldy hay etc etc. Just trying now to do all I can not to deteriorate too fast…. I’m see.n by a consultant at Nottingham City Hospital but feel they are just monitoring me as no real treatment!!

Hello tawny10,I suspect that your HP was caused by exposure to hay etc.Mine was certainly caused by 20 minutes' exposure to dense chicken dust.Do you have a lot of pain as I do.? My breathing is still good at the moment. The Carbocystine is news to me and I shall investigate it on the web.It's good to have the support of people on this site and to make contact with fellow sufferers like you.My very best wishes to you,from Alun.
