Heart racing with azithromycin??

Hi I was prescribed amoxicillin for 2 weeks and azithromycin for 5 days. After that my heart has been racing even when resting to 130 bpm. It's been 2 weeks after my last dose. Doctors don't think its azithromycin or amoxicillin. But only after that I have a raising heart. Body is shaking with pain was hospitalized for a week. No cure. Does anyone know when do the side side effects stop?

Hiya ☺️ I am sure I read something last year about azithromycin Paired with other drugs. I believe it was on Cidrap, there was a study about this. I will check if I find this again and let you know 🙂

Hope it will be better soon again, I would go back to my GP when it's not getting better, there must be something they can do.

Thank you so much! I really hope the heart rate goes back down. It's been two weeks with no improvement.

Sometimes it might taking a bit time to get the medication flushed out again, the body needs time to heal, special when we have problems to get well again. But I would call your doctor again when it's not getting better again 😊 better to speak with him again.Best wishes 🌺🌺🌺

Azithromycin did not agree with me caused Dysentery. Other members had problems also xxSheila 💕

Had similar .. they can cause tachycardia. I don’t have those 2 antibiotics anymore .

Also couple of others do the same .

. ( I read up - . My Dad had CA . . 2 years ago .. So now I watch what’s going in my body & effects I have . .

Im on Tablets . But any new my body reacts .

Hope it sorts out soon .

I took propranolol for couple months . To get Bk into rhythm . But because asthmatic had come off . . . Now try all the. Relief techniques if possible . -

Hi thank you for the response. did you experience tachycardia after these antibiotics and did your heart rate not come back to normal by it's own? My doctors did not recommend me anything. They just took a lot of tests ECG, ultrasound and let me go. I'm scared to death.

I had constant for couple months .. But they said may have added Anxiety . Through Dad passing - But ! It stopped as soon as I went on beta blockers .. only now I can’t take them Bisoprolol can’t take Propanolol worked well . But asthmatic ...

Had bad episodes - my bp was rising through the night mega high . Just sorted that after months . Changed bp tab to evening

Wanted me on calcium antagonists . after trying amlopodine , made legs swell straight away . Tried 3 other meds . But.

Not taking any at the mo .

Had fenlopodine low dose too get body use too it .

But ! Had a episode . Where walking my dog . Pulse fine then next minute felt terrible like couldn’t get air in me . Horrible . My heart rate was 183 for 9 mins . I really did feel terrible . . So now I’m trying keep on my ramipril. . Metformin & inhalers . Cardiologist said echo was fine . . Choles high . Said wants me on the calcium Antagonist . .

Came off Clopidogrel after 12 years .. due to side effects . ( had mini stroke years ago .. 45 ..

Anxiety makes it a vicious circle . Worrying. . Ask for a months supply beta blocker see if helps you. If ! Dr agrees . . And you can take . Good Luck .

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'm sorry to hear that you had to go through all that. I've never had problems with my heart nor my family and I'm 23 so I just want everything to go back to normal. I'm also on Tuberculosis medication. So not sure if I can take Beta Blockers!

Oh I am so sorry to read about your adverse effect of azithromycin. I used to take it with no problems. I stopped after several years as it no longer prevented exacerbation software infections. I hope you feel better soon.
