Sadly pleurisy can take a while to settle. From my own experience of numerous episodes there is no quick answer. I have found that pain killers, rest and a gentle heat to the area that hurts helps.

I have to agree with Badbessie, pleurisy can take ages to go away. I remember mine, took over 6 months to get back to normal. Lots of heat, warm bathing, heat plasters, and some pain killers. As well activity can be helpful, some swimming, you will feel it when overdue it. It's just take time to heal. Take it easy and keep the part warm and you will ok soon again. 👍🌹🌹🌹🌺🌺🌺🍀🍀🍀

One thing I can't wait to try if I ever get pleurisy again is a rolled towel underarm of the painful side. This was recommended to me by a physiotherapist for fractured rib pain. Both pains are very very similar ie excruciating to breath or move. The rolled up towel definitely helped with the rib pain. It allowed me to get a few good breaths in without so much pain.

Yes that's true, it helps to. I have used a small heart shaped pillow I got from Next, this one was very good to use for, I remember that I slept with it sometimes when it was under my arm. I actually always slept on the painful side to put pressure on it. It helped. But well, hopefully we don't get it again LOL 😃😃😃 take care 🌺🌺🌺

Hi. I took painkillers. Rested. Had a hot water bottle and put a pillow under my armpit and against the pain as suggested by my daughter in law physio It does take a while to recede. Take care xAnita
