TV for those of us locked down

Like a lot of us during lockdown I have been watching a lot more TV.I have been exploring channels that I don’t always use and really enjoying it.I thought that some of my fellow “lungies” might enjoy it too.I went on Channel 11 Freeview recently, which is Sky Arts.(you don’t need Sky for this)Initially, I went on this because I am interested in the Art programmes featured. However, this channel also shows” Tales of the Unexpected” which I enjoyed in the late70s/80s. I am really enjoying revisiting these!I also went on the “Challenge” channel which shows a lot of the old quiz shows. On here I am enjoying re- watching “Bullseye” with Jim Bowen. Watching these shows again, I am noticing a lot things that I didn’t before. One of them was how immaculately Jim Bowen was dressed and how patronising he was with the female contestants! It was probably considered quite normal then!

Yes, I agree with you. I have also been checking out other channels and have been pleasantly surprised. At least there are a few good dramas on at the moment. Did you watch The Pembrokeshire Murders over the last few nights? Living in Wales I remember when the actual murders happened and was horrified by it all.. The other one.. The Serpent on Sunday night with Jimmy Coleman is good too. And,of course, both dramas are based on fact.Cheers for now.

I have recorded the Serpent so will watch it later. The Pembrokeshire murders my daughter told me about it. I intend to download it. It sounds good.

The Serpent is good Aingeful. I’m enjoying it but it wouldn’t be for everyone. Xxxx

Sorry, I meant Jemma Coleman. Words just appear on their own sometimes. I should check before posting.

I like Sky Arts and enjoy the Portrait Artist of the Year. I remember Tales of the Unexpected and Pete sometimes watches it now. It’s good to explore. Xxxx

I like Portrait artist of the Year too. I was surprised to see Vic Reeves and Maureen Lipman on there. Its surprising how many celebrities enjoy painting?

It certainly is. I’m watching the Landscape Artist of the Year every Tuesday. Very good. Xxxx

The Bay next series starts again on 20th I think too. And Death in Paradise...although I find the current detective very irritating at the moment...maybe I’ll grow to like him..🤔

Some of those artists are amazing! Although the judges seem quite harsh sometimes!

I have started watching Talking Pictures TV on Freeview (81 I had to scroll through to remind me) some great old movies and programmes, best is that most are in black and white, which is better for you (so they say) near going to bed. Something to do with the colour of the light you watch, which can stimulate the brain.

We have been watching a lot more tv too. We have Sky and watch Blaze which has a lot of programmes about alien sightings, previously classified but now open. Very interesting. Also has some paranormal sightings caught on camera. Spooky! Also pbs which we have been watching Australia in Colour. Didn't know that the Americans were there too in ww2 leaving plenty of babies! My husband likes the old programmes, Takes of the Unexpected included. Certainly helps during lockdown.
