Hi everyone, I have a severe fungal infection from antibiotics that not respond of any treatment in my mouth, throat is redness, tongue has a lot of white dots, my lips are very dry with red dots and peeled off every day. If anyone could help me with some suggestions for fungal infection I would be grateful. I had Nystatin for one week and Fluconazole 200mg/ day for one month but not respond. I have severe asthma and bronchiectasis with pseudomonas and high blood pressure.

You may want to check with your doctor about this, telephone appointment etc and mention medications had not worked, there could well be something else the doctor can prescribed.

You may want to check information on probiotics, oral thrush and antibiotics. Personally I don't get oral thrush from anti biotics but too many courses of ABs do upset my bowel and therefore I always take a course of probiotics. If I need to take anti biotics.

Oral hygiene after taking inhaler medications is also very important to avoid oral thrush, always, rinse, gargle brush teath eat and drink something to avoid this after inhaler medications.

Hi, I have persistent oral thrush which has not responded to anti fungal meds. I am currently waiting for the result of a swab. It may be worth asking you doctor about having a swab taken or obtaining the swab to take yourself. A forum member recently said that corsodyl original mouth wash had cleared her oral thrush. I am currently trying that along with plain yoghurt which my dentist said might help. so far neither have had any affect.

I know that there are fungi resistant to anti fungal medication but am hoping that mine isn't among that group. I hope that you find something that helps clear yours.

Thank you, I already tried everything what you said, I have prebiotic since one month and a half, I tried Corsodyl, I have had a swab at my GP but she put the stick so quickly In my mouth( even she knows that I stayed only at home, and I had a negative PCR covid test at hospital). Of course the result was no pathogenic flora. I think maybe is better to have antifungigram( to see fot which antifungal drugs is sensible our fungal infection . Make sense? ( It is like antibiogram when the dr. need to see what kind of antibiotics is sensible for the infection). Also I tested and I have Corsodyl mouthwash but I haven't original, because I didn't find last time. Yesterday I found original. I will let you know how will be with this one. I have a severe died, more than one month..no sugar, no bread, no fruits, no juice, etc. I eat only few (6-7)vegetables, fish and chicken. I lost many kilos. I always wash my teeth after every meals and after my inhaler medication ( I have three) I drink water. I will make a change and I'll try to have my inhalers after dinner and after that to wash my teeth. Thank you very much for your advice😘 I hope we will be better next time when we talk.

You are doing all the right things in cutting out sugar & carbs (sugar feeds fungi). I had to do that years ago and I'd never felt better. The only other thing I can think of is live organic live yoghurt but you've probably tried that. Good luck with the new corridor. P

When I had oral thrush that wouldn’t clear up with meds prescribed. Eventually gp suggested I swill my mouth with salt water. That cleared things up a treat and is now my go to response for any mouth issues.

I'll add that to my list of homely remedies.

I tried with salty water on the end of November but didn't respond. And since then I swill and brush my tongue with water & baking soda. But thank you very much to remind me to try again.

Have found that Corsodyl (or any other chorhexidine mouthwash) works much better and quicker on oral thrush that the Nystan from the doctors. I always keep some in and use at the first sign.

Yes, I used Corsodyl,( but not original)about two weeks, and just now I am trying the Corsodyl original. But my tongue is suffering, has a lots of white dots.( or how to everyone say like white cremy legions but I think is different because what I see in the mirror is only hundreds of white dots)

I have had two bouts of oral thrush lately (could be because of my steroid inhaler, I also vape) and I agree that Corsodyl works better at clearing it up, I admit I do not brush my teeth (mainly because I ain't got any or dentures 😜 but have started to brush my tongue). I also have ibs/diverticulitis and do not know whether this can contribute to it.
