Fostair inhaler for asthma

I have been on fostair inhaler for 2 months, my body feels agitated and feel my muscles pulsing has anyone else had this.

Hi, I take Fostair for asthma. It makes me shake a lot for an hour or so afters and I feel a bit jittery for a bit. It wares off after an hour or two.

Thanks for the reply it doesn’t wear off with me, will have to change it.

Speak to your doctor and see what they can do. It seems there are quite a few inhalers out there so a different one might suit you better.

I have taken Fostair and moved Relvar. I had no issues with Fostair 200/6 and found Fostair did nothing to limit inflamation.

I was the first person to be given this, in my health authority area. I was on it for a year, during this time my muscles ached, and my bones felt achey too. I developed a mouth ulcer, felt very low at times...had headaches. I stopped taking it and felt profoundly better within a week. It's obviously not suitable for all.

My medication was changed to Fostair for my COPD. I had problems immediately. Breathing went worse and horrendous Panic attacks. So scary thought I was dying as gasping for breath. Also shaking .Stopped it and went back to my old medication all sorted immediately. We are all different so discuss with your Doctor. Good luck xxSheila 💕

There will be a solution for you. I am a firm believer in the saying "If its not broke dont fix it " and I get annoyed when my doctor decides to change my medication. I am on the same medication I was prescribed when first diagnosed over 10yrs ago. My Consultant then was amazing. I was already Severe COPD and really scared as prognosis was 1 to 3yrs. Well here I am over 10yrs later still severe ,still on same medication ,so obviously worked. Oh yes I did give up smoking immediately which I believe saved my life. Good luck. Discuss with your doctor. There is a solution for you. xxSheila 💕🙌

I found Fostair really bad - made me very jittery and then I began to get numbness down one side of my face in the morning. As soon as I stopped taking it the symptoms went.

So glad I just read this! My consultant wants me to try these new inhalers, Fostair and Revlar but I'm fine on existing ones. I'm not going to bother changing right now...!.

I have been on Fostair 200/6 for two years. I have no problems with it. I do have slightly shaky hands but had this with a previous inhaler too.

Do you get lots of bruising? I have been on fostair 200/6 for 2-3 years and it has been good (although now having a flare-up). But one must be getting systemic effects of the steroid leading to the bruising.

I get really bad unsightly bruises with the slightest tap. I’m sure it’s the fostair

Wow this thread has been really helpful as I was put on fostair after having C19. Never had breathing problems before. I get very shaky and jittery after I take my fostair inhaler. I also get very achy arms and after reading this I’m wondering if it’s the inhaler.

I had to come off of Fostair as I had the most terrible cramps even across my back. It felt as if everytime I moved I would cramp. I also had a hoarse voice.

Hi, Been taking fostair 200 for couple of years, ive allergic asthma and im fine on it, only get thrush in my throat from time to time and i bruise easily. Ive had asthma 45 years now so feel much better. Had HIB last 3 years and took macrolide antibiotics for. Glad to say its gone. So being extra careful in this covid. Keep safe Karen xxx

Hi interesting reading all these comments about Fostair as I have been using for about 2 years now was put on it when I was told I had COPD but then after querying it as I have never smoked it was changed to late on set asthma. My body does not tolerate medication very well I am alergic to quite a few antibiotics and a lot of painkillers and I have been fine on Fostair I am only on 100/6 I assume is a milder one so that might be why keep safe everyone in this worrying time Wendy xx

Having been changed over to Fostair by the practice nurse for no real good reason a while ago - I have developed arrhythmia - extra heart beat - ended up in AnE twice when my heart

thumped off the scale - blood pressure high - the experience was like an adrenalin rush (given once for my asthma) - stopped the Fostair immediately and reverted to Qvar and Serevent - Fostair was the only 'external' change to my medication and routine -

mentioned to my doctor - sadly dismissed

I too have been on Fostair for 3+years and find it fantastic. Best inhaler I've ever had. Even my skin integrity has improved incrediblysince awful Seretide, no more rips and even have fewer bruises. We're all, different sohope you get sorted with one that suits you - is it possible that the shaking is caused by something else?

I’ve been Fostair since the summer. Was on few different ones before get on ok with it do get cramps feet hands legs. But put that down to not enough fluids ⏱

I've been on Fostair 100/6 for over 3 years now and find it works for me with no adverse reactions so maybe speak to your doc/medic about your symptoms, practice nurse swopped me over to the Fostair 200/6 a couple of years ago when I'd had a flare up of my COPD and I had some of the effects some of you fellow sufferers mention which disappeared as soon as I complained and was put back to the 100/6 dose.. stick with it eh..

Sorry to jump on an older post !, I got changed over to Fostair 200/6 around 2 and half months ago for the past 8 weeks I’ve been having really bad leg pains in my thigh and calf muscles , feet ankles it’s driving me mad it’s like a dull ache some days ! , I realised tonight the only thing I’d had change recently had been my inhaler change to the stronger dose of fostair 200/6 im now wondering if it’s the inhaler that’s causing the pains ?? 🤔

after stopping how long did it take for you to notice a different or for the cramps to stop the inhaler has really helped with my chest but I can’t deal with the pains that come with it (currently also waiting on blood work to rule anything else out ) but I’m so exhausted with it not being able to just be comfortable is driving me mad 😭 x
