Evening everyone, 2 weeks ago i applied on line for a Blue Badge, answered all questions & submitted 5 pages of Hospital documents backing up my bullous emphysema, 3 parts of my lung removed & having aspergilliousus lung disease.
Today i got an email stated i have been granted a blue badge.
I am now going to apply for PIP, as this is all new to me, where do i start with what PIP to apply for.
Hi ring DWP ask for a PIP form to fill in , send all hospital letters (copies) with it and see what happens, don’t give up I had to go all the way to tribunal but was no bother when I got there, it was one year later but was all backdated
There's only one PIP but the amount you get will all depend on the points you are awarded.

Hiya, I applied late July for PIP, completed the form, submitted medical evidence and had a telephone assessment. This wasn’t pleasant to say the least. However, I was awarded it for both sections in October. When completing the form and during the assessment remember it’s how your illness affects you to do certain tasks and the impact on your mobility. Read the form carefully, there some good hints on the internet. I require a number of aids like a shoe horn, the more aids increases your points. I hope this is helpful and you are successful. Well Frued thats something new I have learned , did not realise using a long shoe horn helped with benefit claims. My Physio felt I needed someone to help me put on shoes but have a shoe horn anyway 
Hi Katie, nice to hear from you. I’ve been fortunate until March to have worked all my adult life and be healthy. I now have to use several aids which has been a challenging change of circumstances, as I’m sure the majority of people here can relate to. I only found out in the paperwork received folllowing the Pip assessment, the emphasis placed on aids. Unfortunately the assessment process can be dehumanising and from my experience if you don’t spell it out for them, it’s not recorded. So yes, the shoe horn helped lol, and I understand what it’s like to-need the support of others to get dressed. Be safe and take care
I was like you Frued, worked all my life even continued with arthritic joints , then suddenly was diagnosed shortly after retirement with COPD mistaken for cancer. I know the PIP process is quite demeaning , as was the DLA process and even attendance allowance . You are right you do have to be very specific as to what aids you use even when requiring patient transport to hospital. Glad you got blue badge , I have one but not allowed to drive only use it if someone takes me in their car. Hope your PIP comes up good for you and is not too much of an ordeal . Best Wishes.

Firstly you have to be under 65 to apply for PIP should you be over then. you can claim for Attendance Allowance instead. Important thing to remember when filling in the form is to give a worse day scenario and if you need the mobility side of PIP then you need to be only able to walk 20 metres without needing to take a break or use an inhaler. On the care side put anything at all that you could do with help with whether you actually get the help or not. Best of luck
My advice is dont try to do this on your own! Get an expert to help you with the form. It has to be answered in a certain way and it's easy to get it wrong.Try Citizens Advice,Welfare Rights Office,Age UK etc.Good Luck!
I applied for Taxi card 6 weeks ago. Not heard anything.
When I applied for Attendance Allowance I went to the local CAB and they spent 3 hours filling out the forms on my behalf and it was granted almost by return post.
Hi 1968, Aingeful is right. Don't try to apply for PIP on your own. You need help from some experienced person - like the CAB people- to make sure you give them the answers they want to read. DONT try to be brave. Tell them the worst case scenario. Having a blue badge should help. Best of luck. Alberta
