Hi and welcome.

It's usually the case that a doctor will prescribe medication based on the benefit to you outweighing the possible side effects. I think that it would be best to discuss your concerns with your GP.

Keeping the eyes closed while using the inhaler I have heard recommended to a patient from their doctor, particularly pertaining to spiriva respimat (and nebuliser), but you can bet another doctor may disagree or disregard as long as the medicine helps with breathing.

The inhalers help us breathe, all medicine comes with a list of potential side effects, but not everyone will get them, some may get minor side affects, but generally it is unusual to get severe side affects and if patients do get severe side affects that's when its usually discontinued after discussing with their doctor.

Hello oxos, as CDPO16 has mentioned it’s best to discuss things with your GP. Hope you get the help you need. Take care xxxx

Good Morning and welcome 😀 I’m relatively new to this Amazing site which is full of fantastic information , kindness and good humour.

I too suffer some side effects from my medication , but benefits outweigh the negatives. Best speaking to doctor who will hopefully set your mind at rest. X

discuss with your doctor if you have concerns, but generally if you've not noticed any and the medicine is working for you .....

the information leaflet that comes with the medicine will give you an idea on possible side affects, but really these as mentioned already, mostly do not affect patients.

I have myopic (not age related) macular degeneration. I asked optician about the inhalers and possible glaucoma side effect. He said that having MD does not suggest you are any more likely than anyone else to get glaucoma. I accepted this and never checked with a doctor. Might be a good idea to ask though.
