Covid & Lung Conditions

There has been a lot in the press about Long Covid and its effects on people’s lungs. Many people seem to be suffering with symptoms very similar to many of us here. Do you think there may be a silver lining here with more research into long term lung conditions?

I would like to think so, lungs and breathing issues have certainly taken some 'limelight'.

I think it might as there are so many younger people suffering, but good for all of us.

Yes I agree, to start with, it is known that Covid-19 can cause pulmonary fibrosis in some. That in itself should be a reason to do a lot more research.

I read that Covid has triggered further research into the after effects of mechanical ventilation as so many people were suffering. This has helped me a little as I now know my memory loss, flashbacks etc are not uncommon after effects. Hopefully research into lung diseases will continue, and be adequately funded, so all sufferers can find relief.

I am sorry you have flashbacks, that must be very distressing. Let’s hope the research can help us all x
