Does anyone know how to get an exemption for wearing a face mask as I struggle to breath at the best of times lol 😂

There are no official exemptions available as these would need to be arranged through your doctor or healthcare professional. They are not doing this.

However anyone can buy a badge which says 'I am exempt for health reasons' which stops you having to say this each time. It is not official proof though as like I said this doesn't exist..

I've seen a few wear these instead of a mask. Good idea because it shows you are willing but can't manage a mask.

This company are very efficient and my badge, plastic wallet and lanyard to attach the badge in the wallet cost just over £6 including postage. It works well and means that other people are not alarmed.

Like lot of people I am exempt from wearing a face covering. But I am also very aware that I am not not exempt from catching covid19 . I have persevered and managed to get more relaxed wearing one. I am also very cautious about were I go so I dont wear the mask for too long. I know every single person on this site has different tolerances . I was led to believe you do not have to prove that you are exempt or what condition you have.

On saying this lots of organisations are offering cards, badges lanyards etc to help people support their exemption .

Search the internet for "hidden disabilities" I saw a post on facebook and followed the link to the website. They cover a load of different illnesses and the Sunflower is the logo. I bought 2 bracelets, a badge and 2 exemption cards.

Hi just come to Wales, I went out for the first time since Feb two days ago and was shocked as very few are wearing mask it will be a long time before I go again! Mark Drakeford has a lot to answer for, he says he thinks masks make no difference! I bet he doesn't have any lung problems!

Hi,

I watched a surgeon being interviewed on BBC a couple of weeks ago saying if you can't wear a mask then you really should stay at home. I tend to agree with him. I don't go out as I dare not risk catching Covid-19. If I do go to the hospital, I wear a mask because I have to. Ultimately, anything is better than putting yourself at risk.

I got mine [a bright yellow card saying "exempt from wearing a face mask] at my bus station's office. They said they are no official cards available. They asked me what I had wrong and I said COPD and that is what they put on the reverse of this card. It was as easy as that.

I suggest that you find your local bus company and phone them and ask.
