I have just had the phone call. The result from the PET scan was mixed, the malignant tumour in the top left lobe remains stable, still in remission, no change.
The nodule in my top right lobe is now in question and has grown 4 mm since a CT scan in Jan. Now at 31 mm, although it is not very clear with just how active it is, so repeat PET scan within a couple of weeks is being ordered. After discussion should it prove to be malignant, then it will be possible to have further radiotherapy treatment.

I have been aware of a problem on the right side for a while, 9 months in fact. Covid-19 has been upsetting the apple cart, for some people the delays have had fatal consequences, my thoughts are for them and their families.
Must have given you mixed feeling there 2G, good news on one side not so good on the other but readiness to deal with if necessary. Good luck with the next scan. 👍💪
The worst part is if I do need radiotherapy again then that will destroy my immune system for 12 months, so will be at very real risk with Covid. So yes, very mixed feelings, being immune compromised will also mean a vaccine will not work either. Chemotherapy also kills the immune system. I believe immunotherapy will not affect the immune system, but it has a mixed succcess rate.
Just hang in there. It may not be the news you wanted but it may not be as bad as you think. You always show a strong, positive attitude 2greys and for the moment you can do no more until you get another scan. It maybe difficult, considering the past few months, but try to keep positive for you both, concentrate on keeping well and continue living each day as it comes.
I have little choice. I'm not going to dwell on it, do the usual with crossing any bridges as I get to them. Life is too short to waste on worry, but I also have to be realistic at the same time, a balancing act that I have been forced to get use to over the years.
We seem to have the same thing going on as far as nodules go. Mine is up 30mm now. I was called yesterday to attend Wythenshawe this morning at 10:30am at the cancer clinic, with my results. I am beginning to feel resigned now, as I don't feel well at all lately. I've never had Radiotherapy. I hope you feel well and not struggling through your day. I think of you and hope to hear that it's not active, and I keep praying that they will all disappear, for us both, no harm in positive thoughts. Thank you, I found Radiotherapy very good with little in the way of side effects, just some inflammation that a course of steroids dealt with and one day of fatigue. The hardest part of it was laying absolutely still on a hard table whilst you are getting "zapped". I was able to continue working whilst receiving my treatment. There are a few dangers attached , as with any major treatment, but they are minimal. For me, any surgery is totally off the table as being much too risky with being given a 60% chance of mortality, because of my comorbidities.
I so sorry you are not feeling well, worrying can do that to you. I hope that your feeling of being resigned is not due to severe depression and more of a wholesome acceptance to your situation, which will allow you to carry on with your life to the best of your capabilities. I can tell you from personal experience that having a positive attitude really does help towards the success of Radiotherapy treatment and the recovery process, as well as exercise. I am here for you, anytime, to give you help and support through this.
