Oh I do like to be beside the sea side

I have just seen pictures of the beach at Bournemouth and I'm quite horrified and saddened to see that its been declared a major incident due to the number of people flocking there and behaving appallingly.

Presumably those very same people were probably standing at their front doors only a few weeks ago clapping forthe NHS and carers...well they might as well stood there and stuck two fingers up for those doctors nurses front line workers the dying the bereaved, the sick snd frightened ,the isolated and all those people coping as best they could just trying to get through the pandemic which i hate to remind them is not over

What are they trying to achieve with their

Selfish mindless behaviour . The record number of European deaths from the virus?

In the light of that behaviour, it makes me feel that my weeks if sheilding might as well be done for nothing.... ...crumbs I am so angry and disappointed with my fellow countrymen

I can understand how you feel ledge. It’s totally appalling but we stay safe and shielded so this dreadful virus won’t get us. I’d rather be at home with Pete and near to our family than in any shop, restaurant or on any beach.

I’m glad we’re still staying safe but sadly so many just don’t care about us or anyone else come to that. It’s a fact of life nowadays it seems. They treat it like Covid has never happened. Silly, silly, disrespectful people.

Stay safe. Xxxx🌈

Did you see on the news last week when Greggs reopened some angry customers had posted online that they were cross because Greggs only had a limited menu on and had no corned beef pasties or flake cakes and me and my friends thought it was a disgrace when there's so many starving in the world!

I would have taken something else and not said anything accepting that it's a, fact of life that sometimes we have to go without.

Then there were queues to go to mc Donald's and burger king which we thought were ridiculous as well and no way were we there as we havent missed those places.

Exactly. I just feel that having something to eat is better than nothing and I’m very happy to find alternatives. Many people are sadly very selfish and only think of themselves. Take care. Xxx😘🌈

When I was a little girl it was the people in Ethiopia that were starving that I used to get told when I would complain about what was on the table and was to get what I was given and at our house there were no alternatives you had what was on the table or went without!

When I was 17 I had gone to stay with my Nana and grandpa and my aunty and her daughters were there and one evening Nana had made a traditional tea with bread and butter and cooked meat and salad and one of the girls had said rudely to Nana she didn't like salad and had demanded Nana get her a pizza no please or thank you to Nana and silly Nana went and got her one as well!

I would have been told off and made to go without not get given a pizza!

I was brought up in a very similar way. My sister and I had to eat what we were given. No choice unlike today.

We would never have been rude to any relative or would have been in trouble. How times have changed. Xxxx

in reply to sassy59

Those spoilt cousins ruled the roost as they had demanded to have gone late night shopping and off we had all gone bar grandpa who had stayed in and at late night shopping one of the girls had demanded she get bought a pair of expensive trainers and was told no and in the middle of the shopping centre had called her mother a stupid old cow!

Then one day her sister when she was 18 had told Nana and grandpa to f ing shut up during an argument with her mother and her mother had taken her home, dumped her there and had gone back to Nana's!

Haha, apparently pizza contains loads of rubish including cysteine which is made from bird feathers

in reply to peege

I personally can take or leave pizza myself and prefer fish and chips!

Omg I can't believe what's happening, not just the crowding, but the bad behaviour too and littering, keep reading and scrolling here: bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-d...

Ashamed of the human race, like children who know no better.

At the way things are going its not going to be safe out there for a long time.

Lockdown has turned them into this, majority were far more respectful before all of this

I have a idea everyone on this site who obviously are intelligent all move next to each other along with the NHS workers and our family and like minded friends and leave the rest less intelligent of society to live far far away to self destruct which they are trying to do now 😊

in reply to Itsmeagain1

Um, your head has been in the sand if you don't think this is already happening in the world anyway. Gated, private communities are proof of that :) I'm a conspiracy nut on the quiet, but you can see it all around you if you look closely.

Who can blame anyone for wanting to live like that nowadays? I would if I could afford it.

It's very worrying indeed. I can see lockdown happening again to deterr people. All the good work during the past months is being wasted. The weather is nice at the moment and The Virus supposedly doesn't like heat; when the colder, Autumn days arrive these people forget the Virus will still be circulating and quicker because it thrives in cold conditions.

Where and when will it end? Your guess is as good as mine.

Thats why I decided not to bother with beaches and parks when it's hot.

With the parks they are fine for exercise when it's hot but I won't sit in one!

Very very upset for my colleagues at the hospitals to have to risk their lives yet again through another devastating peak of this killer virus. I should be amongst them come 1st August !!!

Need to lockdown public places again NOW as it’s risky enough on transport , work and shops! How thick and inhuman can people be.

Stupid people ,stupid dangerous release of lockdown in this way!!

Here we go again.....

Blame stupid Boris for allowing people to travel unlimited distances. These morons think its all over and will wonder how the new spike will have occurred. Especially if they end up on a ventilator seeing as they apparently think they are unstoppable. 🤬

I feel for you...

Its disrespectful though when there's so many newly bereaved behaving in that manner!

Absolutely disgraceful isn’t it , there was an increase in numbers testing positive yesterday . The councils need to stop people coming in , with road barriers , and in July when things are open again , they could section off the beach as other countries have done , and limit and patrol . The councils have been given the local power and the money , but are not using it for the positive .

The big scare now is that from the end of July we are being thrown to the wolves. How are vulnerable people meant to feel safe after shielding ends, when some have to go back to work? It looks like the original herd immunity plan will be carried out after all? I despair at the mentality of people.

I see there's a very slight up on numbers of coronavirus and deaths from yesterdays stats. Hopefully a small blip. x

I totally agree Ledge. I live in a small popular seaside town in Co.Down and for weeks the place has been hiving with daytrippers, caravanners, motorbikers. I've been in isolation since 19th March and now only allowed to go for a walk each day. But I can't as the parks and everywhere is swarming. So mad and they don't care. Dump their rubbish anywhere and head home. Tho we still have to clear it up and pay our rates ! None of my pulmonary group are venturing out. We zoom on line. Rant over x keep safe everyone. Kate

I live in Bournemouth but certainly won't be going anywhere near the beach. I am horrified by the behaviour if the amount of visitors. If they couldnt park in car parks they just clogged up the roads. Nearly 1,000 parking tickets issued.

Used the beach as a toilet and left so much rubbish behind. Our locals helped clearing the rubbish at 7 this morning as they have a pride in our town. I wish something could be done to stop this. No bars or restaurants or hotels open so stay away. Some people camped in tents under the pier to start another day. Thankfully not so many today.

Hi Jackie

I would safely bet there wasn't a police presence. Have a word with your Chief Constable - through your local/national newspaper - and ask him how he could justify the lack of any meaningful action to try and curb what happened.

Be safe

Kevin

Well said ledge. I couldn't have put it better myself. I would also like to know what the Chief Constable of Dorset has to say about all of this. Personally I believe he should be sacked for dereliction of duty along with those incompetents, Patel and Hancock.

Keep safe

Kevin
