Brighton just the same, saw it on local news. People here were attempting to SD but on crowded prom, pavements etc it’s simply impossible.

One reassuring point: Prof Pagel on Newsnight mentioned Japanese research has shown the risk of catching covid outdoors is 19 x less than indoors. Still a risk tho

Yet today is a weekday, with people at work and some kids at school. I hate too think what a weekend would be like.

in reply to 2greys

Yes, my daughter went out last weekend but drove home without getting out of the car. She’d tried several areas for a nice walk but everywhere just too crowded. It wasn’t even a fine day. Glad she’s so sensible

One day I was going to our local park for a walk but it was busy so I walked straight on and went another way and didnt bother.

It really makes me wonder.

We drove past our local chippy today.they were ordering and waiting outside for their food.

There were approx 20 people waiting in a 4 metre square area.

We drove past !

in reply to Oshgosh

Thats what we do if there's a queue at a place and we don't need to be there we jog on!

Outside is safer, a breeze to dissipate the virus, these people looked so close, I am unsure if a breeze could make it between them.

Yes, all along the coast! Wonderful and we, the 'vulnerables' are released from shielding in 4 weeks; in 4 weeks we would be walking around with these 'zombies' and our eventual demise! 😷🤯

Never Bev! We won’t let that happen. You stay safe, we will too. Xxx😀👍😘

You too, my lovelies! I meant they will be passing it on to us on the High Street! Not on the beach😘You won't catch me near any crowds, I'm not even venturing out until end of August and then I have to get to the hospital for my lung biopsy! 5 months overdue, so I'm praying for mercy😔They are not doing cancer tests in Manchester!

I hope Pete is well and I hope you have a lovely evening 🤗🌹

sassy59 profile image

We’re not going anywhere near anybody either Bev. It’s just too dangerous. I’m not that bothered about shopping or sitting on a beach.

Wishing you well when you have your lung biopsy. Thinking of you. Pete is fine thank you. Enjoy your evening too. 💕💖💕

Love and hugs. Carole xxx

Hi 2greys, since the Cummings debacle it’s been a free for all and now with the end of lockdown, I predict our second wave will hit in about four weeks time unfortunately, still they are following the science, unfortunately it’s Cummings and Johnson’s science!😢

Why would you stay there if you saw that crowd? The same people will be so hard done to when they get locked down!🤬

How many medics and nurses are this lot gonna kill?

The lot should be rounded up and forcibly put into isolation. Not fit for purpose with not a brain cell amongst them.

Makes me actually feel sorry for poor old Borris. Announcing the changes the other day he reiterated his honestly held belief that we can rely on the British people’s common sense to win through. Unfortunately it seems that a very large proportion of the British people have morphed into selfish morons with the common sense of a lemming.

in reply to Possumgoose

That panic buying fiasco was another fine example wasn't it and it was most unnecessary as well!

You are not alone with that thought. I have always hated crowds, they make me feel very claustrophobic.

And I go back to work 1st August. We are sitting ducks not just us everyone. Economy has to win over life. They locked us away for what

Total madness - I think I see the second, third and fourth waves arriving in that picture. I will not be able to travel back to the UK to get great bronchiectasis analysis/advice from Papworth and see family and you guys will not be able to holiday in Thailand* for a period measured in years not months at this rate.

*deaths in Thailand have totaled 58 (none for 3 weeks); infections recorded less than 4,000 (OK - probably a bit under-recorded but nil recorded in 4 weeks, except among Thais who returned from overseas and were locked away in quarantine).

It shows "common sense" varies - and those with real common sense leave but are at danger from the others.

I live near Bournemouth and have NEVER seen the beach like this - and the rubbish too - never seen it (even after the Bournemouth air festival) - who are these people?

"and the rubbish too - never seen it (even after the Bournemouth air festival) - who are these people?"

Maybe they are from my area, just 25 miles up the road, Southampton. It has to rate as of the dirtiest cites in the country for litter, a big problem.

Yes, mother nature has combined with God! Go on people! Practice your freedom of will! Freedom of speech! Freedom to mix with whom you like !

My life has been shortened by a few years, however, at least .5%-1% of you will beat me to our maker!

YOU IDIOTS! SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT WORTH THE EFFORT.

Omg. Seriously! What is wrong with people? Give them and inch and they take a mile. They must think that vulnerable people love to isolation and staying inside, because that’s what’s going to happen again

We opened our beaches followed by a whole bunch more fun stuff we were all accustomed to. This mornings news says we’ve have the largest spike of new cases since the pandemic began. So stay away from the beach and anywhere there are too many people. I have a feeling in my gut we will be quarantined again before years end but I don’t know our president believes no lives matter it’s all about economy

I see a Major Incident has just been declared in Bournemouth! Because of numbers of visitors, anti-social behaviour, traffic gridlock etc. I really am amazed at this idiocy. Mind you they interviewed some visitors to Margate on the news last night & not one of them uttered an intelligent word. I don’t know where they find these people

Yes, reports of fighting & drunkenness, intimidation of officials, and it’s only mid afternoon. I seem to live in a different world, I don’t know a single person who would behave like this.

‘MAJOR INCIDENT’ declared in BOURNEMOUTH - pls stay away.

With 1/2 million visitors in Dorset, roads are gridlocked, hindering emergency vehicles & beaches are full - with Dispersal Orders on both piers.

I’ve asked Police Minister to dispatch additional police if Dorset requests.

Seeing as you might have some clout why not ask that idiotic Chief Constable, Vaughan, why he has failed to take any meaningful action against these morons.

Stay safe

They are supposed to be working and home schooling their children . We have a local lake , it is now a no go area , as people have swarmed in with barbecues , which are not allowed , no toilets are open yet , it is an absolute disgrace . Us locals can no longer go there . The council are responsible , which we all have repeatedly told them . It seems this is a problem in many places , we are staying in .
