Brits in the early stages of Covid-19 will be given an inhaler which sprays an experimental drug into their lungs as part of a nationwide trial.

Scientists hope the nebuliser will stop people from entering a rapid deterioration phase and enable the immune system to fight off the infection at home.

The trial was launched by the University of Southampton and initially only people living within a 40 mile radius, who had tested positive though an official channel, could take part to allow the SNG-001 drug to be administered within 72 hours.

This sounds very interesting. If this reduces the virus to a mild flu type illness that would be good news.

Isn’t this the same drug? Interferon beta. It’s had and still having trials re copd ( to reduce flare ups and prevent viral infections)

I was looking for a trial near me last year.
