Ureteroscopy and general anesthetic.

After a consultation with anesthesiologist last week and a telephone conversation with my urologist today a general anesthetic has been ruled out . A spinal anesthetic has been agreed on as it was decided the risks associated with general anesthetic causing harm for a moderate operation was too great , I cant say I'm sorry this decision has been made.

This is just an update that was asked for .

I'm still getting pain and other uncomfortable symptoms and will not be operated on until it is safe to do so ( cv19) withstanding .

Thanks sassy , any operation is not something we welcome and can be daunting, ( especially general anesthetics for us copd sufferers) thankfully pete came through his operation ok and it is some comfort knowing that , wish him well

Take care x

My son had an operation with epidural as he was unable to have a general anaesthetic... Brilliant, no problem at all... Hope all goes well xx

Good luck for your operation when it is finally scheduled, and wishing you the endurance needed before then to wait for that time.

Thanks ergendl, fingers crossed this stone ( but it certainly is not my interpretation of a stone all smooth and no rough edges , this stone I have feels like a porcupine ) will stay put until the operation, the uncomfortoubleness I can cope with but that pain is frankly horrendous when it starts

After sixteen hours of labour with my first daughter the doctor decided enough was enough and I was given an epidural. It was the most wonderful thing that ever happened during the whole horrid affair. 😅 I hope your operation goes well soulboy118 . Please do let us know how it goes. Take good care.
