Bowel and lungs

Little update but no great leap. Friday and Saturday I had quite a lot of pain which was affecting my breathing Sunday morning I dialled 111. They were too busy to speak..go online. Rang our local hospital receptionist said we dont have a doctor on duty. Dialled 999 she said is this an emergency....I dont often get upset but really this was too much. Two lovely guys in green arrived within 10 minutes, oxygen, a drip, morphine, and off we go 30 miles to hospital. My bowel was extended which was affecting my .lungs. comes 5 o'clock surgeon arrives you need to go home because of covid and I'm very vulnerable , no keyhole surgery is being performed due to gas in and out, and I'm not well enough for the big op . Yesterday phone call to say the big chief surgeon is calling me friday morning. Really hope he says something positive I'm at my wits end . Sorry for the moan folks. Enjoy the day jane🌻

At least the hospital was looking out for you as in your are extremely vulnerability and finding a way to help you. Maybe not the way you was hoping but hopefully they will find a way to treat you very soon. I hope they are able to treat you really soon

I’m so sorry to hear this chubby but glad even if no action at the time your hospital seem to be taking a lot of account of you vulnerability. It’s amazing how much pain in the abdomen radiates to the lungs and effects breathing. I have IBS (not flare ups but pretty constant) losing a bit of blood again but in no way as huge as before, and so will be emailing consultant. I really empathise with your situation and hope for the news you are hoping for during your consultation on Friday. Please don’t apologise for what you perceive as a moan. It really isn’t as you have hit obstacles whilst having a very difficult and painful time of it.

Oh Dear Jane, What a Dilemma for you. We all here with Lung Problems keep our Fingers crossed that we don't succumb to our Exacerbations or the Virus. So sorry that you are having so much difficulty right now. Did they give you any possible cause of the bowel problem or any advice on how to deal with it while you await the phone call from the specialist? Friday seems such a long time for you to wait but I hope that when the surgeon contacts you he comes up with an effective way of resolving it all for you. Let us know how you get on. Best wishes xx
