Hi Folks! I am a new member finding my way round here. I was diagnosed with COPD with Asthma a year and a half ago. I gave up smoking straight away thank goodness so haven’t degenerated too much since. I’m scared of this virus though as don’t think my lungs could survive it. Plus I’m the wrong side of 60. Positive side is I do have a good sense of humour which is a medicine in itself at times. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Nice to meet you .

Like the name -are you a heavy metal fan or do you just like the colour?

You’ve done well to give up smoking. Try to eat a good nutritious diet and get as much exercise as you can. Not easy at the moment!

Take care

X

Welcome to you. I’m carer for my husband Pete who has sarcoidosis and COPD. He’s had the sarc for 28 years and COPD for 10. He’s doing well but like you this virus would most likely kill him.

Glad you have a sense of humour, it certainly helps.

Stay safe xxxx

Hi Deep-Purple and welcome. I think we all fear covid and we would all be wiped out by this horrible virus. We just have to stay safe and sit this one out.

I am sure you will love this site with the friendly atmosphere, jokes, stories, help and support. A good sense of humour is very helpful especially now in these troubled times.

A very warm welcome to you. Don't worry, eat healthily, stick to a healthy weight and exercise as much as you can- loads of video clips on YouTube. Practice strict safe distancing and all the hygiene precautions to avoid catching coughs n colds now and after the pandemic. And take your inhalers if you have them regularly. All the best. P

Hi Deep-Purple, I'm relatively new to this site also. Best thing that happened to me since being diagnosed with COPD as well. People are so supportive and so much information, tips and brilliant advice on here from everyone and I haven't yet had a day without coming away from this forum without a smile or a feel good feeling πŸ˜πŸ‘Œ It's so scary out there at the moment but as long as we stick to all the safety measures hopefully we'll all get through this 🀞😁 Keep safe xxx

Welcome. That’s what I like is a positive attitude. My mantra has been β€œAlways look on the bright side” since my diagnosis 13 years ago of emphysema. I am sure if you take all the precautions prescribed you will avoid this terrible virus. Take care, stay safe and be happy. Good luck

Hi Deep Purple

Welcome and I`m like you Asthma and COPD. It`s Great!! on here to use the words of the great Tony the tiger Lol.

In response to your fear of Covid 19 just think with what`s happening out there of ALL the positives to come out of the present situation.

A whole world working together ..pollution down atmosphere much cleaner for us ...co - operation and PMA up. Family finally recognised as the single most important thing in the world.

New developments happening at a much accelerated rate due to the world wide consultation and information sharing. A.I. being used to predict and hopefully find answers to Covid 19.

The best advice is to keep your chin up...try not to worry and stay safe stay healthy ...and above all....as my mum used to say if you don`t know..........just ask

Hi & welcome,

Unfortunately a sense of humour is a worthwhile asset it won't defeat this current virus but it may help you thro'. Realistically it's a beast, but good news is on the horizon with a possible vaccine maybe approved by the back end of the year if it works. Welcome news.

Keep safe & well, which added to your sense of humour should see you OK. Wear a mask keep away from crowds and observe the distance thing.
