Chest infection/COPD - other?

I am a 53 year old male, always picking up something from my sons pre-school had a cough end of Jan not gone away, lot of phlegm, tight chest, totally wheezy like wind bellows, done amoxcillin, and now on last day of prednisolone which does help, now have pain in left lower rib cage area when coughing, obviously not ideal time to visit doctors/a&e - was having difficulty breathing before the amoxcillin, but don't have that at present - the nurse practitioner on phone said sounds like COPD but cant test at present because of the virus situation.

If your smoking past is on your medical records they often jump onto copd . It sound like you had a bad respiratory infection which can take a long time to go completely look after yourself and see how you are after coronavirus panic. You have enough to worry about like everyone else just now keep safe xxx

I had a chest infection january with phlegm cough. Chest infection cleared but still have the cough. Spoke to my gp. Because I have copd it's probably in my case lingered which is sobanniying because I feel good.. hope itvsortscit self out. Why not arrange gp call back. It could like someone said it could be chest infection lingering

Thanks for that I think i will have to touch base with the GP, so used to aches and pains because of the knocks i have had over the years, like most people i guess. tend not to worry unless it does not feel right in your mind and body. I did read that pleurisy gives you a pain in your left hand side ribcage, but it is also meant to give you a very bad chest pain which i dont have just an ache
