Hi

Been on Co-Amoxiclav for two weeks and still feel unwell. I normally phone GP and they send me to Ambulatory Care to have IV antibiotics. However, I feel super concerned about going to any hospital now, let alone sitting there receiving IV antibiotics.

I think that you need to contact your GP and let him/her advise you.

How did your phone appointment with your GP go?

So nice of you to ask. She was very helpful. She phoned Ambulatory Care in my local hospital, where I normal go for IV antibiotics, and asked for advice. They said I could go in for usual IV antibiotics or try doxycycline at home. I opted for doxycycline at home because I’m way too anxious to walk into a hospital and expose myself to infection.
