Not a prank, quite a few of us have had that text today. Look at today’s posts & you’ll see

Ok I just called 111 they said I can still go to work tonight. I’m a support worker and I have moderate COPD

in reply to teresa297

The Deputy CMO did say, in yesterday’s press conference, that they’d erred on the side of caution about who to include in the “shielding” list, & some people might be surprised to get text, as they don’t consider themselves to have severe illnesses. Maybe that’s what’s happened here

Weird though Hanne62 - Im defo severe at the far end, and nothing received so far. Maybe they are sending them out in batches.

Maybe they want us very severe sufferers just to pop our clogs?it will be interesting when i have a planned telephone consultation with my Gp tomorrow to see what she says?

Ironically it's for an unnecessary medicines review that i don't need but will be useful for complaining about my prescription that hasn't been delivered yet. :)

Let us know Skis. I have blood tests on Wednesday and was phoned this morning by the receptionist hoping I would cancel. I would love to but need the results.

in reply to O2Trees

1.5m is a lot of people so I suppose it will take a few days. Although no one wants to be considered extremely vulnerable, it was kind of reassuring to get that text & know “they” are aware of me. So I hope you hear soon. Let us know.

My GP surgery is very efficient, as is the specialist nurse at my local hospital, that could be a factor too?

I’m just glad it’s not winter. At least we’re heading towards the time of year when we can better withstand other chest infections

Good point re summer. I think this week the south of England will be warmer, certainly hope so, it's been bl**dy freezing. Hope you ok - it's good to have an efficient surgery - ours is too, very reassuring.

Not received mine yet, either.

I'm guessing they will be sent out in alphabetical order. ......

O2Trees profile image
O2Trees in reply to Gladwyn

Dont think so Gladwyn as I know the surname of someone here who had had the text and hers comes after mine in the alphabet. Im sure there's some logic and it will come eventually. I dont know if they are sent out centrally or by our surgeries.

Shall we join hands dear jean and pray for some divine intervention on our behalf,if it was alphabetical as usual being a wainwright i will be last on the list .story of my lfe. :) x

O2Trees in reply to skischool

Haha - Im a Fraser so on alphabetical basis I should have had mine as I know a G----- who has had hers. I'll probably wait to register as vulnerable til I get it. But we are well looked after so very lucky here.

That alphabetical precedence thing really does have traction, Ive often thought that, though being an F (in more ways than one, some might say) I've not suffered from it much myself. Hope you're ok today Skis xx

Wilson a bit further down. No text yet . Prize for last on list . Our doctor did text a week or so ago to say don’t go to the surgery if you have any covid symptoms 😂

I have ABPA, asthma, pseudomonas and been hospitalised twice in the last 9 months on IV and oral antibiotics. I haven’t had a text or letter. Might be contacted later in the but to be honest the communication from GP and consultant so poor I wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t hear. Sorry very negative but that’s my experience-hopefully wrong.

The letters were only going out today so you probably get one tomorrow or the next day

111 are wrong. If you are identified as extremely vulnerable you do not go to work. You stay at home. You don’t even walk down to the postbox or the corner shop. You stay at home. That is appalling advice from 111

I have had a text today for a 12 week lockdown

I have had one, but not from the NHS, from Sainsburys saying I have been prioritised for home delivery, I didn't ask, I don't need anything right now, but I am impressed. 🙂

in reply to

I wish Sainsbury’s would phone me, Don. Can’t get a home delivery for love nor money round here

Jacmidlands profile image

I’ve had yet another email from Sainsbury’s to say I’m ‘still a priority’ but still no slots!

Hi teresa,

Just wanted to say that I love your photo of the Lorikeet. Where I live we see them every morning. They are a beautiful bird. They go around in flocks and are very interesting to watch.

Not got one yet either if it's anything to do with the GPs surgery I won't get one at all :(

Most people that use online services I.e for appointments and prescriptions will get a text. Otherwise it will be a letter which takes longer. Take care Cx

Hi I had the same thing. Not to go out or see anyone. Not even my family. I know I'm high risk at getting it. But being on my own for that long. Will be so hard I'm worried about my mental health

Do you have facetime or anything like that? It's not the same as being with your family but at least you can see them and talk with them.

just had a tex from main gov regards mycopd also today a letter from my local doctors that I have to stay at home for the next 12 weeks so just keep smiling and enjoy the weather at the moment

I received a text on the Mon 23/03 from the NHS Coronavirus Service identifying me as at risk and to stay in for 12 weeks. I'm aged 60, live alone and have mild COPD. I've since been getting a text every single day from them with different content. Such as, keep in touch with friends/family/neighbours, make sure I eat well, try to exercise, start a hobby, open windows for fresh air. Most of these are common sense and generic text messages but also quite comforting that someone out there is looking out for me. I also received a letter at the start of all this. I've also been very lucky with Sainsburys in my area as plenty of slots and already had one delivery two days after ordering. I'm considered priority, maybe it's because I regularly do an online shop, I'm not sure. They don't know about my health. I'm very impressed with the help I've been getting so far. Currently self-isolated as mild fluey symptons.

Your so lucky I can’t get a delivery from any where

carolandjessica profile image
carolandjessica in reply to teresa297

Sorry to hear that teresa297. Have you tried ALL the online delivery firms ie: Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Sainsburys, Iceland, Co-op and others. These are such worrying times right now. Really hope you get something sorted out. Take care x
