After far too many years of serious abuse, today I celebrate 16 years of living an alcohol free life.

Having taken on & defeating the alcohol demon, fighting the Corona Virus should be child’s play.

Very well done. My youngest son us an addict and alcoholic and it’s a struggle for us as a family at the moment. I’m at a loss. He’s 37 and doesn’t want help.

Thank you sassy59. My heart goes out to you but I'm afraid there is not much you or anybody will be able to do to help your son until he accepts that he has a problem, once he has turned that corner there is help available for both him & you.

Sorry to read about your son Carole. My first husband was an alcoholic and didn’t want any help, but when they hit rock bottom, as he did, then they normally ask for help. With AA’s help he has not had a drink for well over 30 years. I never thought he could stop drinking, so never give up hope. Love and hugs Carole 😘😘

Well Carole I can give you some hope on drug addiction also. John’s daughter is a reformed heroin addict and is now clean and happily married, so there is always hope. Love Carole xx

Well done. That’s amazing. My husband was alcohol dependant when going through serious depression. It’s hard not to have a drink when you’re feeling down. It creeps back every so often.

I fully understand what your husband was going through, that’s the insidious power that the alcohol demon has over people, the little voice in the back of your head that says “ just have another 1 more drink and all your troubles will go away, trust me”. Top marks to your husband for being able to fight the urge.
