I know just how you feel my husband is exactly the same. I am sick of asking him to wash his hands but he takes no notice. He is brilliant in other ways, just not in that area. I was only saying to him yesterday that I will be picking myself away , he thinks I'm joking unfortunately I'm not. Have a lovely weekend and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx

Spread Marmite on the door handles, you'll be surprised how quickly he rushes to wash his hands. 🙂

That’s a brilliant idea. Followed my husband to the bathroom at 5am and the sink was bone dry. Told him off, thinking of putting a note up to remind him .

oh dear, that's a problem, I hope you manage to stay well, superglue a packet of anti bac wipes to one of his hands maybe.

Here it's my kids and grandkids i keep telling them that mum has had pneumonia twice but when i do try to help protect her and myself she has a go at me i don't understand.

So i know the feeling some people are ignorant

Yes I agree I had similar problem , I don’t think they realise how bad it is if you have respiratory problems, it takes ages to get over an infection . We shouldn’t have to mention it to them 🙄 maybe there not as hygienic ? Not sure if that’s PC to say sorry . If they had the same heath issues they would understand were not having a go at them . Sometimes we couldn’t manage without them to 😊👍🏻

Hello House1 ,

Maybe you could put up reminders. It is terribly annoying I can well understand. I don't think people appreciate how hard it is for people with lung conditions to get over even just a common cold. I am pretty obsessive with wiping down tables, side boards and do it handles . I do it every day. 😑 xx 🙋🐕

I do feel guilty. Because hubby's brilliant does so much for me.

But he does Insist having linen hankies refuses to use tissue's then when he eats wipes his hands on his hankie he doesn't even realise his doing it. If I say just tells me to stop moaning 😷😷😝

Mine too, and as for sneezing everywhere, well ! I try and keep away.

Disinfect door handles, etc.

Got coughed over by a neighbour who then waved his cotton handkerchief around.

Is basic hygiene not macho!

I'm having the same problem my husband does not wash his hands and I'm being called a nag, i have just had a bronchoscopy and have had a terrible reaction to I think the anaesthetic been really unwell, I have let myself away from supermarkets and crowded places and I have asked my husband to do the same, he's very blasé about it and he's not that long had chemo, I fear for us both if he won't take this seriously, we're both in our 70's, fortunately we don't sleep together as he snores the roof off and that keeps me awake

I feel for you. My husband thing I’m hypochondriac, (despite the fact that I have immunodeficiency, asthma and leaking heart valve at the age of 43). People are just ignorant and rude. At work everyone is joking about the crazy people who are scared of the covid. Here is an interesting article I hope more people will read it so please share on your social if you can: themighty.com/2020/03/covid...

Wear a mask, or light a candle. When he asks why you are doing that - tell him how fed up you are. Might work!

What is it about men? Mines the same couldn’t live without him but would probably be safer!!

Ladies... you just can’t expect someone to instantly pick up a good habit like hand washing when they don’t do it on a regular basis! My rule is you can’t go pass the kitchen when you enter my house without washing your hands! Once in my house (even guests) must wash their hands! We all (including my grown children) know to wash our hands once you sneeze or cough or come in from outside because they’ve been conditioned to do so! I even use hand sanitizer once I’m back in my car. Shame on those who don’t see the importance of keeping you healthy! So all you can do is wash your hands often and keep reminding them to do the same! Good luck!

My husband is exactly the same and when I tell him to wash his hands he just runs them under a running tap for a few seconds. He acts wounded when I tell him to hand cleanse. He’s always sneezing and coughing too ... ugh 😫. Don’t know what the answer is and he always passes a virus onto me when I have COPD. Maybe I can donate him to a charity shop 😂
