HEALTH bosses at a Southampton hospital are urging people not to steal their hand sanitisers, as concerns continue to grow over the coronavirus.

The plea was put out by the maternity services department at the University Hospital Southampton after it was reported hand sanitisers were being ripped off the walls at Northampton General Hospital.

A tweet from UHS Maternity reads: "Visitors are welcome to use hand washing sinks in the bays and rooms to reduce the likelihood of spreading any type of germs and infections to our vulnerable patients.

"Please do not take our stocks of alcohol gel, or use them to fill your empty bottles."

It's disgusting people do such things, they should be like the rest of us and wait till they can buy it. Do they not think of the harm they could be doing, I understand they may be worried. But that doesn't give them the right to put others in a possible bad situation they are being so selfish. Sorry for ranting on but it really does annoy me.😠xx

I went to the doctors the other day. Sadly they had been forced to chain the sanitizer pump bottle to the wall as others had gone missing. A sad reflection on an individuals attitude towards others. In history a time of crisis as often pulled a community together. Sadly I have real doubts that there is that spirit and sense of community any more.

do people not care they are actually committing a criminal offence I hope they are on CCTV so the police and the hospital can prosecute.

I saw a woman at the grocery, putting the cart wipes in her purse...gobs of them, and I wondered does she know those will dry out...and our State has 0 cases that is know of.

Stay well,

Meg

Its best when we can. But I certainly like to santise any shopping trolley handles I touch and in fact I don't touch any rails knobs or handles without gloves on or if appropriate santise with a anti bac wet wipe. Although the multi surface wipes are already disappearing off the supermarket shelves pretty quickly.
