Mucus in back of throat

Have anyone had a bronchoscopy done that resulted in a ball in the back of throat hanging from the roof of mouth. I was told it was mucus and to drink plenty of liquids and use muccinex the two would dissolve it. I have to hold my head to the side to avoid it from cutting off my airways. Not to mention talking, drinking and coughing makes me cough up yellow phlegm. And everything I eat comes back up. Have anyone experience this before.

Get in touch with your doctor

It's built up mucus coming from the nose - get some Carbocisteine from your doctor this will help break down the mucus - also cough up any phlem as this will cause chest infections and blow your nose to keep nostrils clear - drink hot water

I was interested to read about drinking "hot water". I have been told to drink lots of water but not "hot". Do you know the reason for drinking hot water?

Please do not stress about it, your body would make you cough until it clears your airways. You need to speak to your doctor about your concerns. To me it sounds like you may have a post nasal drip, do you have sinus problems ? Do you also have a deviated septum ? Are you dehydrated ? Mucus becomes very thick and hard to move if you are not well hydrated. Good luck in the future.

It sounds like the bronchoscopy has caused your airway to become inflamed and this is causing your body to create excess mucus.
