Shingles vaccine

Hi, I have been having mepolizumab injections for over a year now with amazing results. I have just been offered the shingles vaccine. Does anyone know if this is contraindicated.

Hi Jeecamgunn, I checked on drugs.com and there doesn't seem to be a problem between these two. Having said that, it's better to check with the chemist and your doctor about that.

Yes best check first.

I was offered the shingles vaccine , but I take a routine dose of prednisolone and sometimes a higher dose. So I checked if it was ok first. I had to wait until I finished the higher course.

Then I had the shingles injection and I was fine.

I applied to have the shingles vaccine but my GP said I could not have it for a reason he gave. I can't remember what that reason was now, but I trust my GP who has known me for a long time. Not very helpful I know, but thought I'd mention it. 🙄

Your dr has a manual that tells them about any contraindications.
