What an awful mess they've got you in!! Did they give you a CT scan? I was diagnosed with late onset Asthma, but after 3 years they sent me for lung function tests and a CT scan and it turns out I have Bronchiectasis. 😳 The Asthma nurse even believed (wrongly) I had COPD. 🤔 May I suggest you request a CT SCAN. 🤗

Hello Pugnala, I would agree with poems galore, ask for a CT scan and don’t take no for an answer. You’ve been messed around for long enough. Good luck to you. Xxxx

BTW, welcome to our wonderful, friendly and helpful group. There are friends with all types of lung diseases. Most are quite expert in their particular disease, and there's always the BLF telephone helpline and website with many booklets to either download or send off for. You will be well looked after in one way or another. Please let us know how you get on. XXX 😳❤️

Have they given you any inhalers? If you can get on the right inhalers, they might help with all your chest symptoms

If they’re telling you you have asthma, ask to see the asthma. Nurse at your GP surgery..

They had me on blood pressure tablets for 20 years. I didn’t need them.

Look after yourself. Write your questions down before you go to Docs

I agree with earlier suggestion ask for a respiratory physician appointment to get a ct scan done so you can feel confident you have the exact diagnosis. Take care Cx

Hi Pugnala, I was diagnosed and treated for asthma for years and kept telling the doctor the inhalers were making me worse. It wasnt until we got a new doctor and after having a ct scan it turns out I dont have asthma but bronchiectasis. Its so frustrating being treated with the wrong medication for a long time and who knows what damage has been done. The only thing you can do is move on from now. I would insist on seeing a consultant as i dont think the gp/nurse has enough knowledge to diagnose or treat properly. Good luck x
