So i wondered how people were celebrating or not given their political persuasion now that we have officially left the european union.being a remainer with much fondness for our european neighbours and the relative peace and prosperity that our union has maintained i shall be drowning my sorrows in;

Wine, vino, vin, vinho, wein etc etc ワイン(this ones for Cas so she doesn't feel left out) :)

Much love to all

Au revoir is correct.I lived in France for 12 years with my late husband, it was an adventure. I still miss living there.

I hope Jazzkady that negotiations can achieve that freedom of movement that we all enjoyed and can be maintained as i do for similar members who have overseas connections with our european nations. :) x

I’ll join you in a toast to our European neighbours 🍷albeit non-alcoholic 😁 while simultaneously trying not to feel immense sadness! X

You have gained my respect with your bonhomie towards our neighbours and long may it remain.I can not even remember when i was last alcohol free so well done you for your abstinence. :)x

Ah! An enforced abstinence I’m afraid Ski’s! A case of the mind being very willing but the body just not up to the challenge - weak & very lily livered 🤣 💕

Hope this finds you well, although you gorgeous Brits are now leaving the EU. In all seriousness can somebody shed some light on this subject. Living in Australia I have not kept up with it all. I know that England was split 50 50 to stay or go, well that's what I gleaned. So pray tell how will it affect the markets, your lives. Will the cost of living go up? Will the cost of groceries, veggies and fruit, will these all rise in price? What is predicted? And why did this happen in the first place? If you could shed any light on these questions I would appreciate it.

I wish all the best breathing to you all, especially Skischool! Be well, as well as you can be. All the best to you and yours. Jules

Oh yes.... A friend said she was feeling real bereavement. Zebra panicking as he failed to persuade La Belle Scruffinette to make an honest man of him and grant him British residency. Being a Zebra in Pooh mode and of “very little brain” he doesn’t think he can cope with the paperwork. Gone down the garden to the thistly patch to consult his friend Eeyore.

Love from a bewildered Kate xxx

P.S. the last time this was aired on here the thread was closed as being too political and divisive.,. Hmmm

Sadly whichever way you feel. This mess has been caused by uk goverments, and there decisions over the years. Plus some newspaper false stories. That have stirred the pot a bit more. My only thought is The uk goverments are the only world goverment in the world that never look after its own people 1st. Millions of WASPI Ladies are pissed off, regardless of who is to blame. Brian

Man whether it’s your side of the pond or mine there’s just so much unrest going on in this world I wouldn’t mind going to Mars where they say you get more candy bars

I also feel very sad Skis, living in Spain and loving it but feel cut off from my homeland. Not sure what the future holds for us expats. Carole 🥴

So sad it came to this.

I am further saddened by the attitudes of some who chose to leave, including my own mother who has been vocal to the point of racism in recent times. My daughter has very close ties to Europe with many friends scattered around. Her best friend is Austrian and has just moved to the UK and is working an honest and decent job in London. He moved to be near his best friend but he may well be forced to go back to Austria because of this. He has little to go back to (his father passed away late last year and his mother and he don’t see eye to eye in many ways) so I pray for all those affected by this and hope the British people will remember that we are a multi cultural society and celebrated for it. May friendships with our neighbours remain strong and on good terms for centuries to come.

Being a Staunch Brexiteer, I do not see Doom & Gloom. Yes, I lived abroad for all those Years as Do part of my family. We now look forward to a Stronger United Kingdom and Rejoice That we Lead this wonderful Country as it should be, A Proud Independent Leader as it was , still being Friends with our EU Neighbours with our own Control and not Paying them Millions £'s to Line their own Pockets. wait & See, Other Countries will Follow. Surely, I am Not the Only " Leaver Here". I Hope You are all Feeling Well in yourselves, Regardless of how you Feel, No Angry comments, Just carry on as Before, To inspire each other and Feel the Love. XXXX Carolina.

It's a mad, mad world!

My DNA, all stems and roots, can not believe this day. . .

As one transported across the pond by generational decree, watching such history unfold, I tip to you my parting glass. Alas this calls for stronger drink, a cognac. Maybe two. . .

At least you there, with all the mad changes, have more strength in opposition and here we have only senatorial cowards.

Lay on, Macduff

In all of the seemingly endless time it has taken to reach this point I have constantly asked the following question. of my "leave" friends - what has the EU ever done to you to make things as awful as you claim them to be?" and thus far I have not had a single answer which is not based on party political opinions or xenophobia. A sad day that I fear we will come to regret in the future.

I fear the post will soon be closed to comment being of such a political nature of which many get very huffy about. But thank you for including me with the wine Skis. I don't touch alcohol , but back in the day I did appreciate a good glass of wine. xx 😊🍷

While I heartily approve the content of skischool 's cartoon, I have already needed to delete or edit some responses to this post. There are other social media where political posts are accepted, and I am therefore, as predicted, closing it to further replies - with apologies to those who wished to add a friendly comment.
