The etiology and the molecular basis of lung adenocarcinomas (LuADs) in nonsmokers are currently unknown. Furthermore, the scarcity of available primary cultures continues to hamper our biological understanding of non-smoking-related lung adenocarcinomas (NSK-LuADs).

Yet another interesting article. As my father died of lung cancer I often wonder if I have a weakness in some way that caused my bronchiectasis. Both my Mother and Father were heavy smokers and my grandfather, who lived with us, puffed on a pipe throughout the day. As a child, I remember having regular chest infections preventing me from going to school. With hindsight I know this was an unhealthy environment to live in but wonder if these conditions have affected my current health situation.

I would not hesitate to say very it was likely to have had an effect or even the cause of your current health situation although you must not lay any blame, they were not to know in those days.

Of course they didn't know the problems smoking caused. Everyone did it. From what my father told me, cigarettes were given out regularly to the armed forces so they were hooked when they came out.
