Trelegy Ellipta

I went to see my COPD nurse today for yearly check it is the first time i have seen her I normally see my Doctor she was wanting to change my inhalers from Braitus, Symbicort and Ventolin to TreleGy Ellipta, has anyone else tried this inhaler it is just one puff once a day I was a bit nervous to change and said I would see her again a couple of weeks after I have researched it/anyone help x

I've used Trelegy Ellipta for about 3 months and am happy enough with it. I'm using it with the Ventolin Accuhaler and so far so good 😀.

I was on Trimbow with Ventolin 100 that I used with a spacer. 😀 I was disappointed with Trimbow as I had read how good it was for some ... sadly it did nothing for me hence the change to Trelegy Ellipta.

Yes I have been on it for over year and like one puff per day no interaction yet happy with it

I moved last Feb onto Trelegy on dr’s recommendations and was worried as I’d asked the senior nurse on my yearly review about Trimbow as I’d read good things on here but I’ve been much better on it.

Thank you I have decided to go back next week and give it a try I popped in the Pharmacy today and asked the Pharmacy about it and he said he had only had good reports, so I will give it a go thank you for your very positive response x

I forgot to say that the nurse had told me when I asked her about the 3inone inhalers that they wouldn’t suit me as she looked at the amounts in compared to the spiriva/symbicort/bricanyl I was on and so when the doc suggested the trelegy elliptor, I was a bit anxious and made sure I still had some doses left in usual inhalers in case trelegy wasn’t effective BUT I found the hardest thing was getting over the slight anxiety I got in first week or so when I’d usually be taking second dose of bricanyl and symbicort but I’ve always managed to adapt quite well and kept an open mind and after I realised my chest wasn’t slumping, relaxed more and can honestly say it’s been a great experience and feels much more freeing, psychologically speaking, which is always good with our conditions which can slowly rob us of our confidence. Even if the one he gives you doesn’t suit, let yr chest recover and try another, we are all different. X

Thankyou I was anxious when she said about it, but now I think well I can give it a go it could be better for me I have been on my other medication now for about 5 years and you never know if your body gets used to it and it doesnt work so well, do you still take ventolin with this new one.

This inhaler is good but deadly on side effects I came off it going steroid free now

How do you go steroid free? I was told you need a steroid medication to improve matters. I was put on Trelegy Ellipta a couple of months ago and I keep almost losing my voice after talking for a few minutes (anything with steroids does that to me). However my breathing is definitely better but I do get side effects. What were your side effects? I get a pricking feeling in my lungs now and then which has started to feel like I need to cough vigorously and I very rarely coughed on my previous medication which was Braltus Tiotropium.
