Portable Nebulizer search.

Hello

I am considering buying a portable nebulizer for "mild" COPD.Can anyone recommend one ?I'm interested mainly in one I can put in my luggage to fly,so it would need to be light.

Why would you need a nebulizer? Can you not use inhalers? Talk to your doctor about the best options for you to help manage your condition before spending money on equipment that may be no good to you. Keep fighting.

Hi tight48, i have just bought a portable nebuliser off Amazon, like you for flying as i am so breathless trying to walk to the terminal after getting off, my inhalers do not help at all. I will try it when i go in March but i will speak to my respiratory nurse 1st as i'm wondering if i will need a "Fit to Fly" certificate.

It has good reviews, it is very quiet and not that expensive. Have a wee look on Amazon and E Bay, there are lots to choose from.

Hi Andrew, have a look at evergreen-nebulizers.co.uk as they do a few small portable models. I have always found them to be very helpful with great advice and very competative.

Hi Andrew. I have Bronchiectasis and have two nebulizers . One, which was supplied by the NHS, is a Philips Innospire Deluxe. It is mains driven and has a quite noisy compressor. I found it a bit of a pain to take on holiday, because apart from the noise, it is quite bulky at about 12 inches by 6 inches by 4 inches. So I bought a Beurer IH55 from Evergreen Nebulizers, which is mains or battery driven. The batteries last well and you don't have to take them out to use it on the mains electricity. It is hand held and about the size of a spectacle case. It comes in a neat carry case with all the accessories and instruction booklet inside. It is ideal to take on holiday because the main advantage, besides it's small size, is it is completely silent. It vapourizes whatever medicine you are using excellently, (I'm on saline nebs) and is easy to clean. It is so good that I no longer use the Philips one. Hope this helps.
